i usually prefer the manga over the anime, but episodes like these point out the strength of having the voice actors and the music - i fucking looove binks sake, it makes me so happy, but also so sad. i absolutely adore this episode!

2021-07-12 09:48:44 +0000 UTCSo 382 and 383 are indeed filler, but as I mentioned before they're the closest that One Piece has ever come to a beach episode (It'd be more accurate to call them "oceanside resort" episodes.) Considering how I recall you said you enjoy those types of episodes in anime you might think about going back and reacting to them (or at least watching them on your own) whenever you're not super busy with your other reactions or whatever. Anyway, you're almost out of Thriller Bark now. Coming up will be a real treat for you, though it may be some time before you may feel like calling it that (if ever). At this point you should take everything that you ever learned about One Piece, all the rules that you believe have been established within this world and the tropes that govern how it works, and run them through the shredder. The upcoming saga is going to completely rewrite the book and serve as a major turning point for the series, one greater than anything that's come before or, at the present, since. Explaining why would only serve to spoil it for you, so I will leave this at "Clench up, Legolas."

2021-07-12 02:39:43 +0000 UTCBtw, you've seen that sickness before (hint: Noland flashback), so yeah, the captain might still live, but it has been like 50 years, so who knows. Getting out through the Calm Belt ain't easy and one would think any survivors would have tried to at least send a message to the Twin Capes or something... But Crocus only knew that they left... I do really love this song. It's very bittersweet, coz you can't forget Brook's backstory, but at the same time it's so happy and upbeat!
