You were right, btw, I'm impressed how quickly and efficiently they set up the main cast, feels like you've known them forever in a matter of episodes, that's really well done, I'd forgotten about that. Also, how he eases you in with shorter arcs that gradually become longer and more complex, that works pretty well too.
