I can only recommend older anime. To be honest, this is one of the only decent shows of the last few years. Spring 2021 seasonal stuff looks pretty boring. The best shows were made in the 90s and 00s.

So to answer your question, the curses want Sukuna to get stronger by feeding him fingers so they can recruit him. They have the same idea as Gojo, but Gojo thinks Itadori can control Sukuna and the curses think Sukuna can control Itadori. The school isn't sure, which is why they were stockpiling fingers and hedging their bets. The school is not going to feed Itadori the fingers until they are sure he can handle them or they are ready to take on Sukuna. So the curses let the school get one of the fingers THEY had, with a little tracking spell on it, so they could steal all the fingers the school had in reserve. I assume they want to force or trick Itadori into eating all of those fingers at once to give Sukuna enough power to break free on his own.
