Wow thats crazy that AJ forgot about Sea Prism Stone, i think thats one of the things people normally remember, because it's such a big thing in the One Piece world and Luffy was affected by it multiple times. And yeah in One Piece no one really dies atleast it wont get shown really, because its rated for kids/teenagers.

The world of One Piece got its own pace and despite beeing Luffy beeing the main character everyone has its own encounters and development which matters. Especially as weve seen Cobi and Helmeppo again and other characters. The world is on going and yeah Luffy is absent quite often but thats because we do not follow Luffy straight (we could just do Luffy stuff and have Zoro beeing defeated off-screen but thats meh).

Also Seastone is shown again as beeing one hard counter against Devilfruits. Also it is intended that readers/viewerrs recognizue that Luffy is only able to pull it off because of his pure luck. It is important that we learn the enemies get stronger and you know what happens over the course over the following arcs. Comparing the Antagonists so far (except Crocodile) everyone was a piece of cake and the stakes are now getting higher.

Should know better at this point.. When it comes to any form of fiction. Unless you see the body burned to ashes/bleed to death/decapitated etc. expect them to be alive. At the very lest, i can't switch off my brain and pretend i'm not aware of all the tropes. edit:that's actually one of the only things i miss from being a kid. The ability to take fictional stories at the face value and truly immerse myself. Also, people trying to rationalize anime physics is always hilarious.

Crocodile's cell was made of it, as well as some Marine cells/cuffs, and the tip of Smoker's jutte (baton). Contact affects devil fruit users the same as being submerged in water: lack of energy and inability to activate powers. (Enel would not have recovered if Wyper had kept the Stone stuck to him). Millions of years of volcanic eruptions sent microscopic Sea Prism particles in the air which "fossilized" water vapor that became the solid clouds of Sky Island.

Which is why Oda will change the script with future logias. Cause Straw Hats needed some way to defeat Crocodile earlier and now to fight Eneru. If you think about Smoker who is made of smoke, you cant rlly fight it anyway in real life either xd

2020-10-26 20:54:37 +0000 UTCThe main reason one piece is a very long show is exactly what you mentioned: "the main character is not there". It gives side characters some screentime and that helps the audience to develop deeper feelings for other characters that are not the main ones.
