Yeah, I think that's one of Mashima's (the author) greatest strengths, creating memorable, likable, fun characters with interesting relationships amongst each other, that you just wanna spend more time with. He's also really good at coming up with cool and interesting concepts that draw you in, like the different types of magic or the items.
