It's sad they again butchered the 2nd part of the fight against Tam and Jeon Jugok at the end.

I would suggest reading up the webtoon because the webtoon takes more time to explain the power and the characters. and each fight are more detailed

The origin of the Monkey King is from the 16th-century Chinese literature Journey to the West. The monkey king was born from a stone (Mori has no parents) and after seven years of training under a martial art master, he became immortal. Because he is so powerful and even the hell cannot kill him. The jade emperor gives him a low position in heaven to supervise the garden of magic peaches. But he eats all the peaches (probably the reference to Mori eating the fruits) and racks the entire heaven. He is punished by Buda and sealed under a mountain for 5000 years. He is assigned to accompany a monk to the west and protecting him from all the monsters and demons. Because hs is so powerful and the goddess puts a band on him that will shrink when he tries to rebel. (in the GOH, looks like the band repressed his memory). eventually, he helps achieve the goal and becomes a real god.
the weapon he used is called Ruyi jingu bang. it can extend and shrink as far as the monkey king wants. it was a pillar of the sea, and the monkey king just took it by force from the dragon god.
The monkey king can use his hair to create colon to fight for him.
The monkey king has x-ray vision and his eyes can see trough evil. (probably the referent to why Mori's eyes are so different )
He also has a cloud that he can ride on (Flying Nimbus in dragon ball)
