The hamster pet part is about real life hamster. That's why he said that the size wouldn't fit to be its mate.

The Hamster really is a magical creature that has lived hundreds of years, can use magic, his fur and skin can not be penetrated by steel, etc. It is just super weak compared to Ains. I don't think this is a spoiler: I think any adventurer party lower than adamantite, (there might be an exception) would loose against the Hamster. There will be a lot to learn about the Powerscaling in the next 2 Episodes, so watch carefully:)
