That might be why Celestial Wizards aren't that common, I don't think it's for everyone. There's def something like affinity at play here, like, some people are more suited to certain types of magic than others, and you can do more than one type if you take the time to learn. I think part of it is also having to earn the spirits' respect? Lucy is still new at this, and I think depending on the spirits' personality she might have to prove herself first. It's entirely possible that she could renegotiate once they warm up to her.
