They *did* used to censor the heck out of JoJo early on, actually. It was pretty bad during Parts 1 and 2, then got ridiculous during Part 3 . Black blobs everywhere. Heck, you can see it in episode 4, when they beetle Stand rips out tongues. Then it started to sorta lessen during Part 4 (from what I remember anyway), and by Part 5, where the piss-in-the tea scene happens, they apparently decided to totally give up on trying to censor shit

2019-11-25 15:47:16 +0000 UTCI'll re-iterate the censoring part. Jojo is pretty gnarly and doesn't pull it's punches with the gore.... and that's the BEST part. I watched Part 4 as it aired (therefore censored), and was much happier with the uncesored Blu-Ray release. Now the good thing with stands (although at this point a lot of them are just punchy bois in this part that rely on raw power) is that as the idea is more established the abilities become more creative. It then becomes a battle of wit and intelligence which means it doesn't necessarily matter how physically strong a person/stand is. It becomes a game of figuring out that one weakness.
