Look back at the scene of her and the water, Shoto was looking at her from halfway behind a door, and we see from his PoV shot that half his face was behind it, so when she turned around all she could see was the half of his face the reminded her of Endeavor.

Though, one thing you got wrong, his mom did not hate him, she loved her kids, but was eventually just overwhelmed by the stress of living with Endeavor and seeing the way he treated the kids and her till she had a complete mental breakdown.

But it was also his mom who encouraged him to become a hero, and, in the end, Todoroki remembered his mom telling him that "You are not a prisoner of your lineage. It's okay to use your power... to become who you want to be." Also, I love that they didn't show the episode title until the very end: "Shoot Todoroki: Origin".

2019-10-05 23:27:04 +0000 UTCThis episode is my favorite so far tbh. gets me really hyped up and gives me chills EVERY TIME lol. also #2 reason why i prefer subs: In this episode when Todoroki points out that he has no more fingers left, instead of saying "I'm not finished yet!", Deku says, "Where are YOU looking". has got to be one of the closest moments to a Deku rage scene or at least a scene where he is pissed, and That is one thing i hope is given to us in S4 airing on the 10th =D
