To clarify a few things Gook and the students are not adults, they are still in high school so they are around 17-18 years old, and in Korea they have to be 20 years old to be an adult. Also, Gook's father desperately wants to hide him because he is his illegitimate son so he abandoned him as a child around that time when he met Hey Mi for the first time. And about how quickly Gook learned the dance, you may not have noticed, but in the first episode, Gook imitated Jason's dance after seeing it only once on the roof. I think he's a genius at dancing just as Sam Dong is a genius in composing and singing.
