A site like Animekai or Hianime has like 10 times more features and it's free, if you don't like piracy then it's fine to continue using it of course but I assume you don't care as you've used pirated sites before, for those 2 sites just use an adblocker and you'll never have to fight randomness and pop ups. Unless the anime is on some other streaming site I use pirated sites, crunchy has always been like that that's the worse part, I've known about crunchy for years and years and it's always been mediocre. My issues over the years have been random quality drops with high internet speeds, subtitles get deactivated randomly, bad server quality, can't choose resolution quality nowadays, slow to load, bad user interface (has always been like that), terrible customer service and their translations are sub par. The player didn't and doesn't have a lot of modern features, also their series organization is terrible just look at AOT. I've heard some old animes for some reason are very low quality too. By the way this is my own experience after years of coming back to it as of course I want to support good anime studios though if you search about it online you'll see that you're not the only one with issues Neel.
