Tanyas Soldiers thinkl she is a Apostle of God due to her praying. An ANgel send to protect the empire. The enemys think she is a devil and pray to god to get the power to kill her. Therefore he gets many prayers. Target accomplished

Note that he never confronts Tanya in person, but only through proxies. It is quite possible that her magic ammunition could in fact harm him. My own suspicion is that, since magic is not functional in Tanya's original world of origin (Japan, 20th century), Being X was taken a bit by surprise by Tanya having such power. Remember, his purpose was to thrust her into a world where she was powerless and thus had to worship him in order to survive.

2018-03-30 00:53:03 +0000 UTCI would like to point out that the anime version makes Being X a bit more powerful than the light novel. In the latter, Being X is just one of a pantheon. If I recall, there were 7 such entities ruing over the world that Tanya has been thrust into.
