The king ordered him to die in war so that he could have a "heroic" death. The king did that as he was jealous of Kim Shin. Kim Shin kept coming back victorious in the wars so the villagers looks up to him. The King's advisor manipulated him (the king) as he also doesn't like Kim Shin. (As you can see in the scene where he told the king to order Kim Shin's death, the one where they shot arrows at everyone.)

2022-05-06 11:28:22 +0000 UTCI didn't keep saying it because I thought someone would tell you, but the god you call "Mago-Shin" is "Sam-Shin." You seem to confuse her with the god explained in Hotel Del Luna. They are different kinds of gods.
