I watched a kdrama where the mom of the main character was charged with 7 years in prison for killing her husband in self defense because he was beating her and was coming at her with a golf club. I think that it was because even though it was an accident (tho she testified that it wasn't to prevent investigation) she still killed and took a life so she still had to go to prison. It was very fucked up, but the drama is really good and not only focused on that. For anyone interested it's called I'll come to you when the weather is nice.

Laws in Korea are so fucked up. I am not even shocked anymore by what i see in some kdramas. I saw a lot of stories that happened in real life and its scary af. U can do whatever u want in Korea and the law would be easy with u. Thatβs why stalking and crimes against women are so common in Korea.

In Korea, if you attack someone first, there is extremely small chance of being accepted as self-defense in any kinds of circumstances. Even if you are trying to protect someone, you might be charged with assault. That is how messed up some laws in Korea.
