Xela-Za the Echidna

I'd been mulling about making another Sonic OC for a bit before some chatting with a friend, who kicked me some fun concepts, yielded what I honestly think is an absolute banger.

Xela-Za, an echidna from the time of Tikal, Pachacamac, and Chaos. A woman whose immense ego, desire for power, and determination to be beneath no one led her to slowly climb the social ladder. Every top revealing yet another to climb... before the discovery of a mystic stone capable of copying the powers of other mystic gems lent her the opportunity to steal the greatest power of all.

Her machinations to duplicate the Master Emerald helped lead the echidna tribe's attack on the shrine, leaving Xela-Za the opportunity to duplicate the Master Emerald- at the worst possible moment. Her glee at the power lost as her copy, too, answered Tikal's plea and sealed Xela-Za away in itself.

Lost to history, the stone may very well have taken on other forms and been used in other ways. But now, through some lucky circumstance or another, Xela-Za has found herself freed from her prison and in possession of the stone once more - only unlike other gems, the Master Emerald's powers do not seem to remain stored in the shiftstone once its power is depleted. And thus, her schemes continue against all new hurdles and challenges standing between her and her desired power.

I'm so sorry once again for the huge delay, but, I hope this haughty self-proclaimed goddess has been worth a bit of the wait.

I owe a lot of her actual characterization and ideas to my friend, Elderahn, whose Echidna OC Failsafe is featured here getting her junk bloated and supercharged with some chaos energy. Eld also gets credit for the expression on Xela's concept work as they doodled her face and I implemented it.
