2023-07-11 16:03:03 +0000 UTCI'm shock you're sticking with this. 😆 Sailor Moon is Magical Girl Anime. Believe it or not, that is a huge and long standing genre. Just like how DBZ influenced a lot of shounen anime, Sailor Moon did the same for magical girl. Magical Girl anime appears very glitzy and pretty, but they do tend to have dark undertones. Don't be fooled at how this show is starting. Let's say finish the first season (it's not a lot of episodes) then determine whether you care to watch the rest. And yes, there will still be a lot of sappy stuff but some interesting lore will pop up. This version is a remake of the OG, but follows the manga more faithfully than the OG anime did. My only gripe is how annoying Usagi can be, but that is her character trope...and for a reason at that. Good luck!
