Not trying to seem like I’m arguing w you lol, thas just my opinion. Most dbz fans like it purely from nostalgia which I can’t blame, I’m still a dbz fan, it’s my favorite anime, I just think there’s a lot of flaws that ppl gloss over

The writers didn’t “write it for fun” they just made a poorly written plot for most of the movies, dbz has always been more action than story especially in recent times, besides OG. And I think ppl should judge on canon material but it’s different considering how many dbz movies there are and how many have the same plot, android 13 is deadass just a cell remake💀but the new broly movie was great, great to see them actually taking the story side more serious

Again wdym nobody takes dragon ball serious, dbz is amazing aswell as OG dragon ball, the rest of the franchise is more subjective. Like I explained earlier the movies that are non canon aren't meant to be taken that seriously. You can't judge the dragon ball franchise on the non canon movies and say nobody takes "dragon ball serious" lol that makes no sense. Why not judge it on the actual canon material

Cuz it the original and the English dub changes the script the it changes the story of dbz and mostly knowone in English speaking language knows the story to the full

That’s why no one takes dragon ball serious tho, it misses that mark in most movies. Also I’m talking from a critic perspective, most dragon ball fans will say they just like the movies

Thats why they are non canon movies, the whole point is to inroduce a quick villain and have fun with the movie. The canon movies released so far and ones coming in the future is where we see a better storyline with better villains.

Yea this is the problem with dbz movies, they just feel like 1 hours arcs. It’s shows a flashy villain then we fight with the main gang, then goku fights, goes super Saiyan, struggles a lil, and then wins and nothing changed after the story ends. If you keep watching the dbz movies you’ll notice a pattern, they’re still fun fights to watch tho
