Fyre Fest 2 - Interviewing Billy (early access)

Recently I got the chance to sit down with the creator of fyre fest ii and talk about the reasons behind the festival. It's a wide-ranging conversation including confronting Billy on accusations that they've lost their event partner and many people have stepped away.

Is Fyre Fest 2 happening? I highly doubt it, but I will be there if it does, documenting the whole thing.

Does anyone have direct access to Stephen? We really would like him and his team to oversee every move we make about a fund we are about to launch. I have tried the email from his YouTube channel and started messages here but not heard anything yet. Thank you.

James van der Hoven

The killings in Mexico were widely reported. They didn't kill the promoters. It was an isolated gunman in a nightclub who fought with security teams with BPM. There may have been a drug deal gone wrong. The cartel may have asked for protection money before the gunfight. It was NOT an execution.

Jordan Schaefer

You have to give it to Billy tho- if there’s one place to seek atonement it’s a coffee interview. Well played

Staka

Did he ever send those documents over? It's more than a little suspicious how all of the issues with fyre 2 are entirely out of his control. It's like he only wants to be responsible for the things he was charged for

Tani

This was one of the most engrossing videos. The unusual (for main Coffee channel) unedited format worked great. No moralising, the viewer is respected by not saying who’s good and who’s bad—try to figure it out yourself! Speaking of which… If this is true, dude must have earned lifetime immunity to plot twists. If not, I hope he does everybody a favour, stops ASAP and becomes a screenwriter. Save the cat? Check, hero is fresh outta jail system. Quest? Hero seeks forgiveness from the world & tries to atone for past mistakes. Glimpse of the crazy rich? Somebody paid him $1 mil for a ticket. High stakes? How about literal death from a Mexican cartel. Comedy? Everyone who meets them later says they haven’t heard about them! Treading the line between plausible and batshit insane, at all times.

he looks like russian shill mark dice

Super_Monster_2011

Jumpscare at the sudden super close-up on Coffee's mouth at 17:55. (Also odd zoom in/crop at 33:05)

I don't trust billy, but i hope it is legit. So many people are hoping, praying, and accusing this man of being a lying cheat, with good reason from fyre 1, but it lowkey makes me sad to see So many people praying on another persons downfall. I think hes only telling us half the info, but i honestly don't believe his Whole Team is scummy, so i truly hope they get it right this time

HotBoxUzi

Sweet!! Thank you so much.

join nebula or floatplane or upload to patreon thank you

L

I can only trust Billy as far as I can throw him.

James Goines

This guy believes his own bullshit.

Lana Nieves

Not this guy trying to get Coffee to publicly burn a confidential source in the middle of an interview. What a wolf in sheep's clothing. That was so egregious.

Jazzpha

Also not realizing Coffee isn't buying it.

Aaron Hardy

Man, it's like people who compulsively lie and scam all have the same basic script. Even after he got arrested he was still scamming people. Now he is trying to get the rich dum dums to do it again.

Aaron Hardy

does Billy understand that literally no one cares about him, no one knows him, no one cares, why does he think he needs to talk so much, its like putting a microphone in front of a toddler they just spouts shit for minutes on end

324nutz

Fyre fest and the furious!

Chad Pursley

Billy is a master at speech craft and can seemingly dance around those tough questions Coffee threw at him. I think most of this interview was filled with HALF truths rather than outright falsities -- which is the most effective way to lie.

Sean Correnti

"Recidivism is high" ... *foreshadowing* I still can't help but think that a lot of this is "performative accountability", and a bunch of speaking-to-the-future-Jury stuff. It's interesting that -- assuming of course Wikipedia is correct -- Billy has his facts for the BPM shooting so wrong. Four people were killed, not five. They were not "festival organizers"; three of them were festival security personnel and the fourth was a festival-goer who was killed in the ensuing stampede. BPM was not "banned from Mexico"; the mayor of Playa del Carmen in 2017 stated that "...the city's stance was to no longer allow BPM's organizers to hold events there." Cite: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_BPM_Festival "...Caribbean island countries..." please let it be the Bahamas please please please (also smiling at Billy being very sure to leave the Bahamas off of the list of "Caribbean island countries" he mentions). "There's been no *formal* split with the production company" (emphasis mine) ... So pleased to see you not letting that one slip past. It's also good to see this crashing *before* people are actually on-site in a foreign country and only have a Wonderbread cheese sandwich (or a box of chocolates) to eat. And the fact the people who've purchased tickets are being refunded is a good news, if it's actually happening. My question: will there be a ball pit at Fyre2?

Jackalgirl

Not a fan of Billy but, admittedly the truth behind "What's going on?" and "What happened?" can be nuanced and a bit complicated. Interested in seeing how this unfolds. The only thing I AM certain of is Coffee is GREAT at what he does and as long as he keeps his critical thinking/ integrity hat on, I will support his efforts.

Bernard Saturday

Sorry, but I just don't believe a word he says.

AKCSL

Something tells me he's motivated to prove the nay sayers. He sounds genuine to me but time will tell.

M Ali

I'm at 20 minutes in and I paused it. It's trivial to look up the incident at BPM. What Billy is saying is, being charitable, an exaggeration: NBC News: "A man with a gun attempted to enter Blue Parrot nightclub in Playa Del Carmen at around 2:30 a.m. Monday but was denied entrance by event security, causing him to open fire, the attorney general said."

David Robson

Wow, an interview where the person fully admits that they did wrong and takes all the blame. Never thought I'd see the day.

Aquilessa

I just watched the first 3 minutes and my impression: There is no way that this dude is not just simply a massive bullshit artist scam lord. "Yes. Thanks. Great question!" lol

who, me

He certainly talks a good game. But fraudsters always do, otherwise nobody would ever fall for it. Heck. Maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Fyre Fest 2 becomes a huge thing. But the odds of that to me are around the odds of me winning the next Powerball jackpot.

NotSoBadAndy

Great interview! FYI from 17:54 to 18:02 there's a close up of your mouth that might be unintended.

Benjamin Johanns

Bro as of 18mins, his story, if it’s true, smacks of government corruption lmao.

V L

😭The way Coffee is so excited to interview Billy, suspiciously happy about getting free Frye Festival tickets 🤨🧐

Merlara

Ffuuuccckkk yes! Can't wait to see a good journalist ask some real questions to this sales douche

Riley Callahan

Epic coffee!!

Bryn Hildyr

This is sooooooo exciting! Thanks!
