EARLY ACCESS - THE BANK THAT WON'T LET YOU WITHDRAW

This investigation into a massive banking failure has taken MONTHS and at times things seemed so helpless that I nearly gave up.

The victims kept me going. They trusted FDIC insured banks to keep their money safe but now some of them find their money has vanished. Up to $96 million dollars may be missing, and I tried to get to the bottom of it.

Enjoy.

EARLY ACCESS - THE BANK THAT WON'T LET YOU WITHDRAW

Great work Coffee. Hope this shakes up the "not a bank" banks & their depositors get their money back.

Kaushik Venkatasubramaniyan

Maxwell won't be happy when he sees you going somewhere other than Balmer's peak But in all seriousness, I love how it looks, Ed killed it!

Logan James

shamefully parroting Stefan above (but worth it because of Stefan's accuracy): Please don't lose faith in goodness and justice. We need these videos to have hope that a corrupt system will hopefully end after 4 years.

Mike Baumgardner

If you've heard of acorns or even cashapp somewhat, this is like that except apparently super shady. I've used acorns for years now because of their slightly higher than average interest rates for savings accounts and basically zero account fees whatsoever. So those are some of the benefits.

Connor McClosky

Coffezilla team: thank you for the highlighter Foley - soooo satisfying!

Wow, the Coffeezilla universe continues to evolve! The production quality, the storytelling is sooo unbelievably good. It puts 99% of all TV programmes and other media formats in your pocket and probably at a fraction of the cost. Just seeing the pictures is pure pleasure! Well done, Coffee! And one more postscript. Please don't lose faith in goodness and justice. We need these videos to have hope that a corrupt system will hopefully end after 4 years.

Stefan

Not sure if this is an option for you, what I do is plug my phone into the TV with a HDMI adapter.

Ron McKinnon

Omg- wrf? I don’t think I understand the advantage of switching to this type of service but fuck- that’s a lot of money.

Kenneth Cadieux

My SO is a victim. Thanks for bringing awareness to this.

Chase Curtis

Thank you for sharing the stories of the victims who've been let down on every level in this case. Crime may be legal now, but integrity will only truly lose if we stop speaking out and drawing attention to these issues. Thank you for doing what you do!

I guess Fed is still working for the people after all, which is uncommon within the new US administration

Firedigger

I used to be a Yotta customer. When they went from "prize-linked savings" to their current "unregulated online casino", that's when I head for the door. I didn't know about all this shenanigans until it all fell apart and went public.

Steve

Hey Stephen, after hearing in your latest voidzilla video that you’ve been a bit down lately due to the rampant corruption in the US and apparent collapse of the rule of law regarding the types of scams you usually uncover, I just wanted to tell you that in my view the legality or not doesn’t mean the economics of these scams stop being off (and the 30’s is a good example how economics always catch them) and therefore people like you continuing their jobs is more important than ever. Even though scam companies get to not face legal consequences, the fact that more and more collapse because of this very fact leads inevitably to people realising that they need to be more aware of them, and that’s why your work is so important. I expect investors to get more and more picky about where they invest BECAUSE they are aware they can get scammed blatantly and no one will save them, which at the end of the day is a good thing, please please continue your work to make everyone aware and hopefully people finally realise they can’t give their trust to anyone without doing some serious research first. I do think simple economics will play their role fully here eventually.

Eliott Fournet

I'm sure the same thing will not happen with Robinhood Banking, despite them doing the exact same thing as Yotta.

Steve

Congratulations on the Coca-Cola sponsorship! Meanwhile, the former CEO of Synapse is off on his next grift with the $96 million misappropriated from customers.

Steve

love the discord diner

Zala

I wish these were posted as unlisted YouTube videos so I could watch then on my TV lol

JBones RVA

Damn I don't know what to say that's crazy

Penga_(Lv)

Wow, this is wild. Thanks Coffee

MIKΞL

your research is fantastic and the cinematography on this video is great!

Ovidiu

As coffee says, crime is legal now, sad

Matt D

A third party company advertising fdic protection given by a first party bank should be fundamental illegal as false advertising.

Lars W

U help me sleep at night 👍

Jonah Waldron

So Yotta is just off the hook because they were not really a bank? The dishing around of all this money - which is now disappeared - is bad enough, and knowing that banks can suddenly "find" money is the sort of criminal crap we should expect from fraudsters, but that there is not actual money trail, and that all the Yotta slime get away scot-free with whatever they skimmed off the top should break people's faith in the internet. I just figure the Yotta folks are on beach in the Caymans, thinking up their next scam.

Michael Gene Sullivan

Great video as usual You should create higher support tiers

Cam

This is why I invest in you ❤️

Jondeau Kassim

I recall when you first reported about Yota. It's disappointing and sadly unsurprising that it is still unresolved. As a completely separate comment, it is heartening to see how long the patreon list at the end has gotten.

Ada MC

Watch the previous video on this for more. FDIC says "not our problem the bank is still solvent"

Alex Burka

dumb question but if theyre FDIC insured cant customers take it up with the FDIC?

uya

Deregulation is coming. Deep cuts to oversight and enforcement. If you read Project 2025, some of which is implemented by Executive Order, the CFPB (which had FDIC in it) is gutted. There are so many FINTECHs - good luck policing them all.

Dennis Fahey

What do you really expect. The average IQ is like 100 so you have a significant portion of people with 70-90 IQ which means they can barely understand some of these concepts

Alexander Bartucca

Here before someone with Washington's ear attempts to send Coffee to El Salvador for some charge of "undermining investors/market manipulation" for... warning people about shady "founders" and get-rich-quick gurus?

Aaron Woo

This is only going to get worse as the thieves in DC continue to weaken and dismantle all regulatory bodies to stop any meaningful enforcement of already very weak rules meant to protect consumers. It's disheartening when half the country cheered when they took out the CFPB which was there to protect us.

Christophe

Great vid as always. Before publishing to YouTube, I'd recommend removing the blur on the text in shots like 9:14... It was really hard to read along with the blur. Also your fingers have some weird discoloration from the coloring process.

Scott

Former Synapse employee here; was hoping you would do a follow up on this coffee thank you!!!

Andrea Di Cola

I was watching this morning but couldn't finish. Now it's not working.

Linda Tock

My safe always has the money I put in there.

Mike Gervasi

Ye not working for me

Michael Robinson

Anyone else not able to watch the video? It's like the app isn't working...

Jonathan Ohlsson

Love the production on this one

Liv

I followed for this 💪🏼 go get’em tiger!

Yet another Financial Scandal in the Free Country

Adri

Given my personal experience of going into the adult world during the banking crash of 08 and it's after affects. Well I just don't trust any online only bank.

Tally

columbo coffee ☕ ↪️

hazard_fox

Amazing work! Also loving the new set designs and the small details that make them come together. Keep it up guys.

James Linderman

Great follow-up! I have $1.5k lost and $0 back, not much in the grand scheme but also not nothing

Michelle

It's unbelievable how easy financial crime can be committed in the U.S. Thank you for all you do, I'm worried for you guys

Melissa Smits

Great investigation, not sure Evolve would have « found » that many without the pressure of your story being released soon. And btw, amaaaazing evolution of the edits, the scenes, the lights and even the props and clothing used. It felt like a real multi location show and not something filmed with a green screen. Bravo !

Hamza H

Great video. Bold of you to visit the Discord Diner so late at night, stay safe out there. I've used Mercury for years for my small business. It's slick, and their feature set is significantly better than non-fintech banking sites, but the way they just barely pulled away from this mess left a bad taste in my mouth at the time. They certainly made the correct choice when it came to ditching Synapse, at least...

Justin Sleep

these new backdrops are insane

alphacino

Absolutely fantastic breakdown, even I understood it! Well done to you Coffee and the team.

Louise Cross

Great watch, amazing coverage! Also just because I'm a VFX nerd, really nice compositing! It's gotten so much better over the past few years.

enev

Coffee I love this! I know these investigations are a lot of effort, but this is well done and poignant.

Milien McDermott

This is what happens when the president of your country is a financial criminal himself and has given a clean slate to all the Crypto and NFTs scammers from 2021. It's so corrupt, America is a joke.

Mario Longtin

tysm, I needed something new from you to watch :D
