PSA: Taking Patreon rewards then deleting your pledge
Added 2017-08-19 10:44:46 +0000 UTCPosting this here too, for the sake of consistency.
=====
I've had a lot of people doing this lately, so I’ll say this plain and simple: If you sign up for my Patreon and immediately delete your pledge, I will BLOCK and REPORT you for failing to follow through on your pledge.
Why? Because I can only assume you just want to see my latest timed-exclusive pictures, save them, and bail out.
Let me say that again, TIMED-fucking-exclusive. That means my art will still be available to everyone, for free, a week after it’s posted to my Patreon.
I don’t like paywalls, you clearly don’t like paywalls. And, y’know what? I’m doing everything I can to keep my art free for everyone to see. But, at the end of the day, I need money to keep doing this and that means I need to offer incentives for people to support me.
By engaging in this selfish, inconsiderate behavior you’re telling me that you’re just an impatient asshole. You’re basically putting a meal in front of me, then taking a shit on it.
But, I’m sure none of you see it that way. All you care about “cheating” the system to see that hot new picture that you literally can’t wait to see. And, you even have the balls to list your reason for leaving as “I only intended to pledge for a limited time”. Yeah, of course you did. Go fuck yourselves.
=====
This should go without saying, but I’ll say it anyway.
Obviously, if you have a genuine reason for unpledging, then that’s perfectly fine. People have money problems for numerous reasons, it happens.
I don’t block every single person that stops supporting me, so please don’t let this post scare you with the possibility of being blocked. And, if I do make a mistake, all you have to do is send me a message and explain your situation, simple as that.
This post directed at people who literally sign up for minutes, hours, or (rarely) just a day or two, then jump ship. The people who are clearly just downloading images or seeing what they can get access to, then leaving. These people are almost never supporting any other content creators, so it’s pretty obvious when they show up.
