Alien: Earth - Episodes 1 and 2
Added 2025-08-18 07:04:30 +0000 UTCThis week we're beginning our series on Alien: Earth.
Having watched the Alien film series in its entirety at the end of last year, we are perfectly prepared, poised like an apex predator, and above all really bloody excited to embark upon a full, week-by-week viewing of the new FX series, Alien: Earth.
Alien: Earth has been created and overseen by Noah Hawley, the creator of TV shows Legion and Fargo, both of which are a careful mix of faithfulness and creativity - exactly the qualities we, over the course of many podcasts, have identified as crucial to the best IP storytelling.
Join us this week to discuss the double episode opener, and then every Monday to discuss new episodes in the series.

Just watched these two eps (though I listened to the pods at release) and I gotta say, I like it so far. Stylistically, it's enough of a throwback without being too overpowering, as it's interspersed with new sets and tech (with the exception of the hallway which looks startlingly like the one Ripley walks down in Aliens, at the end of ep 2, but they didn't dwell on it, so I'm not offended.) Feels balanced, a breath of fresh air after Romulus. I find that I agree with Rob when he commented recently how he doesn't know anyone's names. Through 2 episodes, it took me all the way to end to know who anyone was besides Wendy. I'm not bothered, I just think that's interesting. I, too, would have to IMDb the info. At the end of ep 2 came my favorite line: Wendy tells whateverhisnameis to "Guard the omelette." That's fuckin hilarious.
