2024-12-19 22:00:30 +0000 UTCIf my memory serves me correctly, not only do they face famine in Burma/Myanmar, aren’t they facing ecosystem or biome collapses in the most rural areas because of rare Earth mineral mining? The article was about their water and food supplies being toxic and undrinkable or inedible, but forced to function because of the ruling party’s agreements with China. I cannot recall where I read it (mining.com, or something else), but the Burmese people are in truly bad shape when they flee to Bangladesh for asylum.
