This episode really shows just how lost Euphie was after the engagement was called off. For a while her entire identity was that of the future queen. It's what was expected of her and she tried her best to be a proper queen to be. Now that it's been taken from her she doesn't know what to do. It's really sad when you think about it. Also I don't think she received much affection from anyone. Her father doesn't strike me as the affectionate type (but he does love her) and her fiancé was very cold and distant if not outright hostile toward her. Must have been a very lonely existence. Like it said at the end of the 1st episode, she was a girl who was born with everything but had nothing.
