Palais Garnier = Garnier Palace (the opera house) Grands Magasins = Department Stores / Great Stores Arc de Triomphe = Arch of Triumph Exposition Universelle = World's Fair (where a country showcases a usually temporary structure) There isn't one single place called "Grands Magasins", but the one depicted is certainly "Le Bon Marché" ("The Good Market", with a double meaning as "The Inexpensive"). The other famous department stores in Paris are: - "Le Bazar de l’Hôtel de Ville" (The City Hall's Bazaar), - "Printemps Haussmann" (Haussmann Spring), named after Baron Haussmann who oversaw a massive urban renewal of Paris in the 19th century, - "Galeries Lafayette" (Lafayette Galleries), named after Marquis de La Fayette, a military officer who played a role in both the American War of Independence and the French Revolution. There's no Sun Tower in Paris, but it was one of the leading propositions for the 1889 Fair, where the Gustave Eiffel's Tower was eventually picked.
