The thing is, Park Hanbin was pushed throughout the entire show, he was definitely one of MNet's favorites. He got so much positive edits, got the highest vote of his group every performance round (I believe Hao also pulled this off), and I'm pretty sure he got more screen time than Taerae and some of the other ZB1 guys. So he was one of the popular contestants but it is kinda wild he never placed within the top 9. I do think part of it is because he was overshadowed by Sung Hanbin being the more popular "Hanbin". But I don't think it was Mnet's doing to push Sung over Park. Frankly, MNet would probably prefer to put Park Hanbin in the group over Sung Hanbin since Park Hanbin is under WakeOne Entertainment, which is a subsidiary of CJ E&M like MNET. The hate that Jay got throughout the show was ridiculous and completely unwarranted. I believe he even said on a livestream that he had a hard time because of the hate and false rumors being spread about him. And it was infuriating to see him not just place last in "Over Me" but get such a low vote. From what I heard, people said that the fans who attended the live performance couldn't hear him as well as the broadcast version showed. But still, I love that every person I've seen watch this episode reacted to Jay's score the same way. Also love how far you've come with your view on Jay. In episode one, you thought he was going to be this cringy american and look at you now, rooting for him. Yes he definitely has one of the best vocals in the competition. Also, Zhang Hao and Chen KuanRui have been friends since before the show, I think KuanRui also used to be a YueHua trainee, hence why he likes to cling on to Hao.

the thing is, the fact that the zb1 members were consistently in the top9 is like the biggest proof this show wasnt rigged, cuz any shocking twists on the line up would only happen if its scripted? like ppl usually make their choice in the first few eps and those same ppl continue to vote throughout the show which adds up to their final vote so ofc the same ppl would always be in the top 9 unless something crazy happens and theyre revealed to be an evil criminal (or have a gf since this is kpop 🙄) or something crazy and the fans turn on them and stopped voting, like? even if another contestant gets popular halfway through the show it would be very difficult to beat the gap thats already formed, which why we always saw hanbin and hao win everything cuz that gap was just impossible for anyone else, it being predictable, is what proves they actually took the fan voting into account

im late to this but park hanbin not debuting has nothing to do with mnet he is the trainee with the best edit throughout the whole show and mnet clearly pushed him which is not a bad thing btw and he placed 10th in the end which made a lot of sense to me the zb1 members were just a tad bit more popular no one was rigged in or out

yeah the hate for jay was bizarre. i mean obviously he was popular enough to go really far in the show but there were times when i really didn't understand what was going on there lol

don’t worry, i was soooo mad too when jay got 5th. i am sorry but was the audience closing their ears when he was singing or. sometimes, it feels like people just hate on jay for absolutely no reason.
