I'm still at the beginning of your video (probably gonna edit this as I keep watching if I have things to say lol) but first, because you mentioned Fullmetal Alchemist, I had to comment about it! So personally, yeah I'm not sure if you'll like it tbh. It's one of my top favorites and it's what actually got me fully into anime, but I would say it's more of a slow burn? It's not like AoT or Demon Slayer where it just hits you right away. Imo, FMA is an anime you have to be more patient about and I feel like maybe you'll enjoy it better down the line once you watch more animes? I would recommend it though, I just feel like maybe you'll enjoy it once you watch a few more animes in between. As for anime episode lengths, yes, pretty much most, if not all, anime episodes tend to be on the 20-24 mins side, just for future reference! 23:28 oh yikes, so ngl, inner monologue is a big part of shounen animes, especially. which is ironic bc in a lot of them, instead of a straight up fight, we tend to get both fights AND inner monologues at the same time, which can sometimes drag the fights lol - well, I would say it's sometimes inner dialogue and sometimes just actual dialogue (I actually don't mind if they talk during fights, I just mean I've noticed others have complained it can drag a fight). 25:46 while this can be an interesting premise, I agree, I feel like, if you don't give a character (especially the main character, whose story is who we follow throughout the anime) some kind of backstory or reasoning for their goals/motivations, it can be hard to root for them? at least imo, I need more depth and not just bc the character wants to do it, yknow? I actually prefer following a character with a traumatic past bc, to me, it makes them more relatable and it can be easy to feel for them. It's one cliche trope that I actually love! But yes, a lot of anime characters do have traumatic pasts LOL, but it's executed in different ways for different animes. 30:13 she's usually inside the basket during the day bc she's not allowed to be in the sun light so he lets her roam free at night bc of that! 37:12 imo, that's something this show does well: it has you sympathizing with the demons you meet along the way for reasons I won't say why bc they all have their own reasons, but I love how that is executed in the show. 44:10 I remember wondering this at first too lol but no, he doesn't have any actual powers! Any animation you see coming from him, it's more of a visual for us, the audience, on Tanjiro's heightened senses!

2023-10-13 13:52:23 +0000 UTCDemon slayer is a really beautiful show! It’s much newer than attack on titan. (the manga started in 2016, and the anime in 2021). Also Tanjiro is 14! Nezuko is 12. The show also takes place in japan during the Taisho period, so basically the early 1900s but since Tanjiro is from a rural village, most of the technology hasn't changed much. Also in Demon slayer, patterns of the clothing characters wear is a way to tell families apart. Tanjiro's family has a checkered pattern which they all wear, except Nezuko's main pink outfit is more reminiscent of their mom. I really love the show, it’s one of the few popular shonen (more action based, targeted towards young boys) with a female author. Also Tanjiro is so sweet, as the eldest son with a ton of younger siblings and his father passing away- he has so much responsibility but he’s still so kind. 😭
