NCT Dream Mental Camping Episode 7

and here we discus the mental health of young celebrities and idols. Btw i discuss Justin Bieber at the end and i do know there are MANY valid reasons people dislike him, but i am mainly centering my discussion around Justin when he was 13 and discovered by Scooter Braun ( to around 17, notice his misbehavior and scandals started when he was 18) and an innocent kid, much like young trainees and idols that debut at that age.

NCT Dream Mental Camping Episode 7

Comments

This episode solidified to me my theory that the dreamies almost become codependent on each other. In their 7 incidents thing they all mentioned meeting the members which is of course expected, but when you think about the fact that they have spent all of their important years when people learn how to branch out on their own, figure out their personality, gain experience which shapes who they are, get heavily influenced by the people around them, etc. together it really shows how important they are to each other. Ever since they joined the company 11-13 years old they haven't been living around proper adults like their parents or guardians which means that they naturally relied on not the older members of NCT (who were like 17-20) but also mostly Mark. Mark was the leader and despite also being very young at the time I think he had to mature a lot faster compared to the other dreamies because they relied on him as an older member and their leader. They naturally became very attached to each other because not only did they not have a regular adult presence but they weren't able to make friends their age either since they dropped out of school and there weren't idols their age that debuted at the time. I think that when Mark graduated it was almost as if they were "thrown into the wolves" because they quickly had to figure out how to take care of each other and their schedules without that solid leader/older figure that they had in Mark. Mark graduating is I think one of things that has helped them grow into the people they are today because they started becoming more self-reliant since when they became adults, the adults in SM wasn't "hold their hand" anymore and immediately expected them to take care of everything themselves. When Mark returned though you can clearly see that their dynamics has definitely changed compared to before Mark's Graduation because it feels a lot less like Mark is their older brother/leader who's taking care of them and handling everything and more like they're all much more independent but also still have that love that they've had for each other that has come from years of basically having only the members. Like they tend to "baby" and play with mark a lot more and you can feel that they're definitely in a better space than they were even before Mark's graduation as if they have finally started found themselves and settled into their dynamics of all of them almost having the same amount of authority/responsibility in the group. (I'm really sorry about the long ass paragraph but I rant a lot too and have no idea how to shorten my words)
