"The Japanese title of Typhoon Gal seems to be "Onna Sanshirou", Onna meaning girl, and Sanshirou being a character's last name comprised of the kanjis for "three" "four" and "son".
It appears to be a play on the name of a famous Japanese novel and Akira Kurosawa's first film "Sugata Sanshirou", which is also the name of the main character and was called "Judo Story" in the west.
Segata Sanshirou, the mascot for the Sega Saturn in Japan, was himself a parody of this character as well. I'd never heard of this game before, but I love learning about quirky obscure games from Japan."
It's always good to have additional info and thoughts on things that are in the zine (or in this case, aren't in the zine), so going forward I'll be posting little videos, animations, or other info on games that I've put in the zine already.
It's fun to discuss things more thoroughly!
