In the bustling city ruled by the Pasha, where the sun illuminated the vibrant colors of the marketplace, Kyo the fluffy kitten alchemist scampered down the cobblestone streets outside her mansion. Her fur, a striking green, shimmered like the purest forest against the backdrop of the lively city. Her golden eyes sparkled with excitement, for she had a plan, a purpose, and a dream. Talos the Butcher kept pace with her, his cleaver over one shoulder. Suspicious eyes stared at every nook and cranny around his massive form. Uncle Talos the super meat cook is so suspicious of everything! I have Eai, anything that attacked would face the wrath of living armor, hmph!
Kyo was no ordinary kitten. She possessed a profound knowledge of the space magic arcane arts, allowing her to master the intricacies of alchemy with precision. Eai, her new living armor companion also provided a holo-graphic display. Where she had previously weighed things with math and space, now Eai did it all in a snap!
Kyo’s deft but small hands had crafted countless valuable mana crystals, prized by those who sought power and prosperity. Her only client, Robert the Lion, a local gang lord who ruled with excellent taste was fantastic. For close to a year, he had been pouring gold into her pockets.
Kyo on the advice of her Patron had been selling her exquisite mana crystals to the fearsome Robert, amassing a decent fortune. Today, her furry ears twitched with anticipation, as she was about to achieve her long-held ambition: buying the fish market in the heart of the nearby local city square. Fish! Ponds! Fish! Meat!
As she approached the fish market, the air filled with the pungent aroma of fresh catch from the deep ponds around it. Her ears perked up at the cacophony of fishmongers hawking their wares, the sound akin to a melodious symphony that stirred her feline instincts. Kyo's heart raced with exhilaration; she was about to claim a piece of the city that had been her home for years.
Before she had ever learned to kill Earth Rats to sell the meat, fish had sustained her. The locals of the fish market knew her by name. Quite a few of the aunties and uncles had provided a spare fish to her over the years. It was time to repay them. Making the purchase of the area had nothing to do with Talos claiming fish were better than meat, not at all!
The fish market's owner, a stout Cat Tribe named Mr. Bigglesworth, eyed Kyo with skepticism as she presented her offer. "You, a mere kitten, wish to purchase my esteemed establishment?" he scoffed, his plump tunic buttons quivering with disdain. Kyo's gaze never wavered, her green eyes piercing through his contempt. She revealed a pouch, filled to the brim with glistening coins, the profits she had earned from her dealings with Robert the Lion.
“Sell, or suffer.” Kyo said with a steely gaze. No mere fat cat could get in the way of her fish fry.
Meowlius's eyes widened with shock as he beheld the small fortune laid before him. He couldn’t believe that a fluffy kitten had accrued such wealth. A sharp glance at Talos the Butcher’s form made him suddenly lose his courage. With a begrudging nod, he accepted Kyo's proposal, relinquishing the fish market into her capable, yet small, fingers.
Word of Kyo's acquisition quickly reached the ears of Robert the Lion. Intrigued by her bold move, he paid a visit to the fish market, his imposing figure casting a shadow over the vibrant stalls. Kyo greeted him with a wave, her eyes glued to the frying pan Talos was using.
“You spent everything on food?” Robert said giving a commiserating glance at Talos.
“N-No! I still have…” Kyo stuttered as she counted her savings, “Three coppers and eighteen silvers!”
Robert stared blankly at her as his tone held a broken murmur, “Didn’t you have almost a thousand gold?”
“I don’t count the yellow coins, it makes me dizzy.” Kyo said using and impeccable lack of logic.
“I’ll have to send Sene with you later.” Robert said with a sigh as Nota popped into existence to take a seat.
“The value of money is hard to teach when one is priceless.” Nota said with a casual face.
Talos nodded as he continued flipping multiple fillets in several pans.
