Daily Short: Eve 06

Eve had been studying witchcraft for years in Tal Mor, but it wasn't until she discovered the power of Witch's Dust that she truly began to unlock her potential. The fine powder, made from eldritch magic and scientific pseudo reality, had the ability to make the most fantastical things into reality. It boosted her power beyond mortal limits. Without such a tool her power would be barely above a normal Tier Six without access to higher levels of magic.

With the advent of reaching Level Two she had managed to gain back a small portion of her real power. The addition of Refining Blood was the first step in pushing herself up the towering mountain of reality manipulation required to attain the peak once more. Combined with Blood Magic I and Blood Manipulation I it removed the food supply problem. Monster blood could now be processed and turned into sustenance. That was merely the most basic application though. ABC, always be cheesing. If you’re not cheating, you’re not trying!

Excited to see what she was capable of now; Eve carefully mixed a pinch of Witch's Dust into a vial of her own blood then used all three Bloodpowers. She quickly used her dust within the mixture to draw intricate runes within the red liquid nodding as it bubbled in the vial. Each symbol represented a new level of power that she hoped to achieve. She theorized that two Tiers could be stacked on Blood, then Bones, and finally Flesh in this world. With the appropriate runes, and the necessary mana from Floor Bosses everything would fall into place. At least that was the theory.

As she began to chant an incantation to unlock her power, Eve felt a surge of energy flow through her body from the vial of blood. She could feel the Witch's Dust working its magic, unlocking the lockbox of reality she’d been forced into by the Crystal Wall Defense. In order not to be fried like a bug sucked into a wire electric grid she had portioned her power away in the Library of Dust. It was either drop my power level, or be melted into oblivion’s embrace. I chose the best course, at the time, and thus survived.

Desperate times had called for desperate measures.

Now it was time to begin regaining what had been sealed. Eve was not content with simply using Witch's Dust to boost her basic abilities. She was determined to push herself even further and unlock even greater levels of power in order to escape and return to Charlotte’s world. Tier Sixand Level Six were dimensions apart in power.

As she continually mixed the Witch's Dust with her blood and drew intricate runes within the liquid, Eve could feel the power building within her. She knew that with the right combination of spells and incantations, she could unlock new levels of reality manipulation that had previously been beyond her reach. It was difficult because the tiny golf-ball of Witch’s Dust she had access too was barely enough to work with.

With trepidation, Eve continued to chant the incantation that would unleash her newfound theory. She could feel the Witch's Dust working its magic, unlocking the secrets of this universe and allowing her the potential to access levels of power that she had been restricted and chained from tapping before.

As she started to reach the peak of the incantation, Eve knew that she was on the cusp of something truly extraordinary. With the power of Witch's Dustand her own blood synchronizing, she was poised to become one of the most powerful Witches in the world.

Probably the only Witch in the world to be honest.

Eve's incantation grew louder and more forceful as she relentlessly pushed her willpower into the vial of her blood mixed with Witch's Dust. Finally, after a half-hour of vocal intonation the liquid began to glow with an otherworldly energy, and Eve could feel her power surging within her. She knew that she was on the brink of a breakthrough, and she focused all her attention on the intricate runes that she had drawn within the vial.

As she continued to chant, the symbols began to glow, and a powerful wind began to whip around her, throwing her hair and clothes wildly about her. Goblin bodies flew away to splatter against the walls, and even the recently defeated Dark Troll’s massive weight shifted slightly. With each passing moment, Eve's power grew stronger, and she could feel the barrier between the physical world and the realm of magic growing thinner. Is it just me or has the temperature risen a bit inside this glass vial?

Suddenly, a bolt of lightning shot forth from the vial, crackling and hissing as it struck the floor. The runes within the liquid grew brighter, and Eve's eyes widened as she realized that she had successfully unlocked a fraction of her Library.

Moving with haste she scrolled down her previous Status that appeared visible in the air before her. The shifting ripple of reality’s weight let her understand that time was tight. With incredible speed she selected three options.

With a sense of undue haste and fear, Eve gazed upon the liquid in the vial, watching as the glow faded and the runes within it began to shift and change. She knew that the symbols represented breaking the common sense of this world, and she couldn't wait to begin exploring their potential.

Taking a deep breath, Eve carefully uncorked the vial and drank its contents. She could feel the powerful mixture of Witch's Dust and Runes coursing through her veins, and her False Falna flickered into blazing existence as reality was altered at a fundamental level.

Crystal Coreprevented the overwhelming pain that accompanied the scent of burned flesh from affecting Eve. When the process finished, a powerful gust of air completed circulating around her and dispersed. Status!

Eve grinned with an angelic smile. She had become a master of the arcane, able to bend reality to her will temporarily, as long as she had a boatload of mana, and the residual remains of a dead Floor Boss.  As Eve basked in her newfound power, she knew that she had only scratched the surface of what was possible. But with the help of Witch's Dust and her own determination, she was confident that there was nothing she couldn't achieve. Escape is only a matter of time now.The rest of the Tiers will be regained!
