Daily Short: Kyo 22

ACT  963161069-33889.20.13-Fluffy Alchemist Kyo

It was hours after recent training that Kyo picked up a small book that she had seen Felix making notations in every so often. Her kitten curiosity had gotten the better of her and the book was now grasped in her small fingers. Opening the pages, she started to read her eyes widening as she scanned the words that shifted into legibility with faint green glows.

Kyo was a young alchemist, known for her fluffiness and adorableness. She had always been fascinated by magic and had devoted her life to studying the arcane arts. She also studied a subpar specialization known as alchemy taught by a green idiot who couldn’t learn Space Magic if his life depended on it.

However, she had always felt that there was something missing from her studies. She wanted to push the limits of what was possible, explore new frontiers, and unlock the secrets of the universe.

One day, she met Felix, a powerful and mysterious being who was unlike any other she had ever encountered. Felix was a demonic charming blue crystal, a master of space magic, and he had a proposition for Kyo. He offered to teach her the ways of space magic, to show her the wonders of the universe and the power that lay within it.

Kyo was overjoyed at the opportunity, and she eagerly accepted Felix's offer. They began their training in earnest, with Kyo studying the ancient texts and mastering the basics of space magic after exhausting her minimal physical capabilities to expand her mana pool. Felix was a demanding teacher, pushing Kyo to the limits of her abilities, but she never gave up. Even when she didn’t give up but collapsed, she was always motivated to continue.

Every day, Kyo would rise early and begin her training. She would practice her spells and exercises, honing her skills and learning new techniques. Felix was always there to guide her, offer encouragement and advice, and push her to be her best. He was a sparkling light of joy in the dim world of Kyo’s existence.

As Kyo's powers grew with incredible slowness, she began to see the universe in a new light. She saw the infinite potential of space magic, the way it could bend and twist reality to her will. She knew she could learn how to teleport across vast distances, how to summon comets and asteroids, and how to create portals that would take her to far-off realms. Space Magic had capabilities that were far superior to any other form of the arcane arts. Her illustrious mentor, Felix, knew them all!

But Kyo was not content to simply master space magic. She wanted to be the best, to surpass even Felix's abilities. And so, she embarked on the distressing path of alchemy taught by a bird-eating maniac to seek out new challenges, to push herself to be stronger and more powerful. She also gained a strange obsession with poisons that would affect crystalline forms to the confusion of her fantastically awesome shining glorious mentor Felix.

One day, she snapped upon finally mastering the most basic teleportation. She claimed the world was Made of Meat! It was said to contain ancient and powerful magic, one that would unlock untold powers and unlock the secrets of the universe. Kyo was determined to reach the sphere, claim its power, and eat the delicious meat of legends!

With Felix by her side, Kyo began her journey. She faced countless obstacles, from treacherous space storms to fearsome beasts, but she never gave up. She pushed herself to be her best, using her space magic to overcome each challenge and reach her goal.

And finally, she reached the Meatworld. She gazed upon its surface, filled with wonder and awe. She reached out, her hand for the first bite, and felt a surge of power flow into her at the crunchy deliciousness. She was transformed, her powers growing to new heights, and she knew that she was destined for greatness.

“…Meatworld?” Kyo thought tilting her head. She vaguely remembered seeing delicious things before she fell asleep atop the mansion roof. Teleporting hadn’t given her the same view afterward though. It was like she had a moment of insight into the true nature of the universe before being blinded once more. This is a matter that must be considered over sausages. Many parts of this book sound is suspiciously incorrect. Could this be pro-pa-ganda like Nota mentioned once?

Talos passed by glanced at the little book Kyo had in her hands and blanched. “A-Anything i-important?”

“Meat,” Kyo said nodding sagely. Best not to disturb the cook with her musings.

Talos turned white as a sheet and whispered, “M-Meat?” It appears she had failed most badly at the non-disturbing part.

Placing the book back where it had been, Kyo moved over to the stunned guardian cook and said, “Meat!” A snap-crack sounded as she teleported them both to the kitchen. There is nothing meat cannot solve. Wars, famine, strange stuttering cooks. The true deliciousness wins over all conquering a path to victory with sheer flavor!

At the higher levels of proficiency magic affinities start to blend into each other. I fully believe there's a way to mimic biomancy with space magic. One of the easier examples of this observation is that you can create zombie armies with both Necromancy and Phytomancy. Necromancy does it by turning corpses into flesh golems and using soul magic to install something that can control those bodies autonomously. Phytomancy does it by designing a fungus that can infest corpses to provide a scaffolding for the fungus to grow on and move autonomously. Both methods can be used to achieve the same effect. That isn't to say that certain tasks won't always be easier to accomplish with certain kinds of magic, just that at the peak of magic you can do anything any other magic can.
