Q1 2024 Update

Hey, gays! Sorry for the lack of posts this month. A lot has happened to me, and I just wanted to update you guys.

PART 1: Personal Life Update

My allergies flared up in late March, and I fell ill for almost 2-3 weeks. Initially, it just felt like my regular flare-ups but it wasn't this time as my dad now works as a landscaper and tends to bring home a lot of grass dust and pollen on his clothes. The medication helped but it also caused a lot of swelling and joint pain/aches. I couldn't move around as much and the same thing happened to my mom. I had to take care of my mom since her muscles started to spasm and she couldn't walk. All the continuous sneezing hurt our bodies a lot and I needed to rest. I've recently started to work out so I can regain my strength.

Apart from that, I also had to complete a deadline for a zine that I spent too long on from a combination of procrastination and illness. I had to spend 90% of my energy on that so I could complete it before focusing on other tasks at hand.

PART 2: I Need Your Help

Due to me being sick for so long, my mental health went down the drain as well. I've always had mental health issues but the recent political climate made my anxiety worse. There have been cases of queer people being demonised and criminalised here. If I'm honest, I was at a point where I wanted to quit art because I felt like it wasn't paying enough to help me solve my problems. Thinking more about the bills sucked up all of my energy which didn't allow me to focus on my art and commissions. I lost focus because all I could think about were my bills. I just felt lonely because I also had to see my ex-friends continuously support the people who have hurt me... I felt like I didn't have anyone to trust anymore...

I had a meltdown a day or two back where I said on my Twitter that I wanted to leave for good. I was at the lowest point and my friends made me realise I shouldn't give up. I appreciate my friends, mutuals and Patrons who talked to me and gave me hope. Another mutual suggested that I move somewhere I can feel safe and comfortable creating art. That's when I decided to seek help from everyone so I could do that. I revived my plans of moving out of the country.

I never used the tips you guys gave me completely because I wanted to save it and I'm glad I did. The tips everyone gave me accumulated and allowed me to reach the initial goal I set up. I have enough to pay my insurance, healthcare and other bills for at least a few months. This allows me to focus on my art and commissions since the weight has been lifted off of my shoulders.

I wanna thank Zap, Odi, Pyreflies and a few others here (some of you guys tipped me anonymously but I can see your emails on my PayPal). You have no idea how much it has helped reduce my burdens.

I set up a new goal on Ko-Fi so I can make my plans of moving out of the country within 2-3 years a success. (Cause there's a lengthy process and it also requires money)... Once I move out, I can be gay and draw in peace.

PART 3: Where I'm Heading with My Art + Requests

That being said, with some of the tips I received, I was able to upgrade my software and purchase the animation license for CSP. I can now get back into 2D animation and I might animate some spicy content for you guys. With my bills settled, I can now fully focus on improving my work!

Since I can now animate again, please give me your recommendations and suggestions! I would like to practice with the suggestions and requests. Please don't expect anything super amazing yet from me hahaha.,..

I'm also going to work on some of the requests that y'all gave me months ago that I can finally work on now!

Tiny Update: For the Link art pack, I might only be able to email everyone the second phase later on because I couldn't even focus on it while I was sick. I don't want to deliver artwork with bad quality so that will wait for a while. The Homoverse (Genshin, HSR, ZZZ) art pack is still going to be active from April to March since I can work on it full-time now.
