The Halo lore can be a bit confusing at first, not because the story itself is bad, but because the games weren't released in chronological order. So if you play them in the order they came out, you might end up jumping around the timeline a lot, which can make it harder to follow the overall story. The correct order to play it is: Halo Wars, Halo: Reach, Halo Combat Evolved, Halo 2, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 3, Halo 4, Halo 5: Guardians, Halo Wars 2, and finally Halo Infinite.

2025-08-28 21:33:07 +0000 UTCI know Halo 1 is dated and didn't age super gracefully (no map, confusing level design sometimes, etc), but its so great seeing Rae and QT play such a formative game from my childhood. Trying to survive The Library on legendary was such a scary experience and the feeling when I first beat it turned me into a life long gamer.
