Just had to pause and share this thought during the convo about feeling like you have to do an idea just so no one else does it first. I really liked QT’s take on it. I’ve definitely felt that frustration too (as Rae mentioned) wanting to keep something to myself out of fear someone else might do it first. But hearing QT say “fuck it, I'll say it out loud" and "just do it better", just screams fuck it just have fun with it”-- really hit. At the end of the day, there’s so much out there already, and nothing is ever fully original. Most things are inspired by a mix of other things anyway. That perspective makes it feel lighter—like it’s okay to just create without stressing too much. More people doing similar things just means more perspectives, more content, more fun. Also reminded me of something I read once—how ideas are like frequencies, and we’re all kind of receivers (and sometimes senders). So if you don’t act on an idea, it might show up in someone else’s mind too. Or maybe multiple people receive it around the same time. Either way, it’s kind of cool to think about.

Bless her heart, but QT is a little gullible at times and I'm glad we didn't have a long segment where they treated those fake statements as real and discussed them.

Yeah it sucks that Ned cheated on his wife but the issue was the legality of dating an employee and the possibility of a lawsuit. Especially since there was another employee at the Coldplay concert with them. So yes they both should have lost their jobs

I read about how there was a lot of drugged and drunken physical fighting/abuse from both Ozzy and Sharon in their marriage at least at certain points (per Sharon herself), but that’s obviously no excuse and it sounded like he definitely did the most damage. he would apparently beat her and even knocked her front teeth out once. then like you said there’s the strangling where he was arrested for attempted murder before Sharon forgave him following a 6 week rehab stint. he also had an affair at one point that apparently caused her to try and take her own life. they just stayed together despite all of that so it doesn’t get brought up enough. death is still death, he had family and friends that I’m sure loved him anyways, and the finality can be sad but he had some pretty bad contributions to the world too.

Apparently she was in the middle of a divorce but it actually tracks they'd be similar in age if it started when they were both married.

2025-07-23 23:39:57 +0000 UTCI work in HR as an analyst. optics aside, the reason for the CEO resigning is more complicated than cheating, it just happens to align with what he maybe deserves karma-wise also. she’s the Chief People Officer which means there’s a 99.9% chance he was also her direct boss, which creates a huge conflict of interest especially at that level. it’s less about cheating and more so that you often can’t ethically or justly have those sorts of relations within a direct reporting chain especially if that closeness/bias is being covered up and also because the power imbalance could lead to problems/abuse of power. the company’s Board of Directors (who essentially act as a boss for the CEO amongst other things) likely would have been forced into some kind of action regardless if he hadn’t resigned. the woman is on involuntary leave but they may end up letting her go after the investigation (likely by a third-party). also apparently the woman next to them wasn’t an employee and people misidentified her (it sucks so much for her that her name got plastered everywhere). it doesn’t seem like the concert was a company thing at all. a lot of companies even require employees to self-report if they get into a relationship with a coworker so they can make sure there isn’t any conflict of interest otherwise they’ll try move one to a different position or team. if he was just having an affair with his next door neighbor, he’d still be a shitty person for that but he might still have a job.

I just have to be like well I haven't seen this person do anything with the other recently so I think they might not fuck with each other any more, or I have to pick up on the subtlest hints on how I have seen them interact and it's so exhausting and I just want one big friend group of people where everyone like each other and they don't fragment away and then I can't hang out with them all anymore :(

The entire western media space supports only Israel explicitly, including the BBC. Also, Ozzy almost strangled his wife to death in the 80s. I think there was more abuse but I could be making that up. I know there was all the media about the Osbournes (they had a telly show right?) trying to paint them all as relatable and funny and touching as Ozzy struggled with his drug addictions while still being a rockstar famous dad but yeah, rest in piss in my opinion.

Personal and work are two separate things typically lol The problem with the Astronomer folks is there were both internal in positions of power in the same company. People could lose their jobs by discovering the affair or could have been told they would be fired if they said anything. Him resigning and or her being fired was the only option because of that most likely
