I think theres just a huge overlap when it comes to having some sort of neurodivergence, and neurodivergence is not only autism! it is crazy though that her friend was able to see that change in maya behaviorally. But makes sense since twitch is an adhd breeding ground, it'd be crazy if it didnt change you in some capacity.

Edit: apparently there is also a Muppets Disney+ show

But also I’m fascinated by the point of view that friend of Maya’s had, where he thinks that Maya presented as neurotypical pre-Twitch, but immersing herself in Twitch as a job/culture/ecosystem has elevated tendencies that make her appear more neurodivergent. Neuroplasticity is a hell of a thing.

If QT and Maya have a shared doc of discussion topics, or if each of them just jot some ideas down in a notes app on their phone, can we move "discuss a random thing I saw on TikTok this week" down to the absolute lowest priority? If it's a meaty topic that has been trendy hot gossip all week (It Ends With Us drama), or the topic warrants like 20+ min of discussion (the lengthy Ballerina Farm article/discussion), then sure go for it. Otherwise, I feel like "discuss a random thing I saw on TikTok this week", without even editing in the TikTok(s) for context, is a flop at least 80% of the time. For example, I don't think a single comment has anything to say about the missing Maui woman, and the Muppets/Jim Henson story seemed overblown. If all you other lovely Patrons are way into the segments, I'll take the hit on this and accept this is a me problem.

Some big streamers are a disorganized mess, but they're big enough that they're represented by an agency or management, so QT would instead hound the agent/manager to fill out the application.

If somebody asks to be excluded from a category, during the "nominate people" stage, even if every fan in the world votes for that streamer to be a nominee putting them to clear #1, the final list of valid nominees for the award would be #2-5 or whatever. So in the final vote stage, there would be no way to vote for the person that excludes themselves. Your options would be #2-5.

2024-12-05 22:08:42 +0000 UTCIf this is out of line i apologise, there is zero malice in this nor offence meant (FYI Autie is shortened from Autistic) I do kinda see the Neurodivergent thing, I didn't know if I should say anything as I am literally not qualified to say if you are or not & I don't know you IRL so don't see you day you day to see off stream and its possible people can take it as an insult Some stuff on streams could be considered 'stimming' behaviours like vocal things or physical but again not qualified Women have however traditionally had WAY better masking techniques in life which did lead to fewer being picked up until someone said 'huh maybe girls don't act the same way as boys' so when that person said 'oh no you're not' they may have been thinking of the 'traditional' idea which is VERY outdated I would say honestly you could look into it if you felt the need to but there can also be negatives to an official diagnosis Personally I was diagnosed on 2nd time about 7 years after I first looked into it as my Dr suggested 'a label' would maybe not be great if i'd managed to get to adulthood without flagging anything - he meant well but for me it was the worst choice as i remained a square peg put in round holes until it got very bad

If you are allowing a streamer to preclude themselves from a specific category, what then happens if people vote for that person in that category? Do the votes just get ignored? Are you relying on streamers themselves to tell their fans if they have removed themselves from an award?

A lot of the times neurodivergent people develop/learn masking techniques by adulthood to subconsciously "fit better" into society. There's an additional masking test you can take that quantifies if you may have autism but are masking it with learned behaviors. I've known several people who have scored very low on the actual autism test, but scored very high on masking. As always, take self-administered tests with a grain of salt, but just thought I'd share.

I know people are sad about the ride but...come on now

He originally didn’t see the muppets as a kid thing but more as adult humor and was astonished the muppets actually could teach kids. Disney was in negotiation to buy Henson Company shortly before Jim’s death so the deal never went through. Henson Company and the Creature Shop continues to exist today with his son running the company. Companies like Sewio already offer this type of tech for employees in warehouses and construction jobs. It can provide locations of individuals in a mapped space precise within 10cm. Probably expensive tho. Though ideally people should just actually show up and not be rat fucks.

I will say I hope that qt (& slime also) does some educating on autism and the community. I’ve heard some *interesting* jokes from both of them. There are a lot of people finding out they’re autistic and stopping there. They make jokes that are objectively harmful to the community and think that it’s fine since they’re autistic. There’s a reason some things aren’t said/some jokes aren’t made and it’s not bc of being ‘pc’. Autists are like the least likely to care about being pc lol.

Not sure if they were blatantly lying for views, or if QT simply misremembered. The Muppets brand/Jim Henson's legacy is alive and well - the only concrete thing happening here is they're closing/relocating one Muppet ride at Disneyland. I'm more than open to QT and Maya discussing the concept of legacy, as I think it would be an interesting topic given their streaming careers, the Streamer Awards, Alveus. But I don't think they need to be giving attention to Disney adult TikTok getting bent out of shape anytime a ride closes at Disneyland.
