2024-02-14 18:22:51 +0000 UTCOkay so weirdly enough, I had randomly paused the pod last week around like 40 minutes in and am just listening to the rest of it now, but LAST NIGHT I went to see Mean Girls with my wife, neither one of us knew it was a musical and I had the EXACT same thoughts about all of the characters!! I thought Renee was honestly more believable as Regina than Rachel McAdams (sorry not sorry) and my wife disagreed about Janis but the guy who played Damian killed it, better than the original IMO. I loved Janis though in this one I don't really ever feel like I truly liked her in the first one, but halfway through the movie I thought I recognized her voice so I looked up the cast, did you know Janis is played by the same girl who voiced Moana??! Crazy.

Almost like saying “Yes, I could see myself cheating on you, I’m sorry”. When really you want to convince that person it’s an otherworldly possibility and contains no remnants of your true self other than having the same visage. But I understand now. Probably just easier to apologize if that’s more reassuring.

I think you're both right that when she made it to the stage, she probably had a bunch of thoughts racing through her mind as she realized she probably shouldn't have been as pushy with bringing Lana up with her, but then remembering "oh god wait I have to do my speech" then trying to mix Lana in because she felt bad for dragging her up there. Sure she didn't immediately consider the feelings of Lana when dragging her up there, or Celine when giving her speech, but it's also just a lot to take in and process in a short period of time. It's reasonable for her to make mistakes like that. She doesn't need to be scrutinized or burned at the stake over it.

I love that you both prefer to just look like normal women instead of getting dolled up for every appearance you make. It's healthy for the body image of other women. Also, QT, not only do you look like Margot Robbie when you have all your makeup done, Margot Robbie looks like you when she doesn't have as much makeup on. You have similar facial structures, stature, and hair. Sure your jaw is slightly less defined, but that's about it. Margot just has her makeup done by professionals in most of the stuff we see her in. The first image you find when you google Margot Robbie where it is just her face with a blue background looks A LOT like you.

You think he doesn't do it often and he thinks he does. You'd have to literally dig through a bunch of VODs to verify he does it at the frequency you feel makes you right or he feels makes him right. Without doing that, one of you would have to cave and just say the other person is right. So you both have even footing in the argument on your cases until you search VODs or someone caves. Should he have continued to argue his side until you caved instead? Granted I get he didn't believe you were right, but it's unfair to just expect him to legitimately believe you are right about a thing HE does and agree with you. Also the fact that you're arguing his own autonomy kind of gives him the edge to be more right, even if he can't recite every instance of him doing it. If he believes he does it all the time, what power do you have to tell him that he doesn't and he's wrong about his own actions? I also watch Lud and I see him do it regularly. But I also couldn't tell you exact frequency. I do consider it one of his ludisms. I started watching during the chess tournament he was in a ways back. Also I think you are both equally entertaining in your own ways so I promise I do not have a bias towards Lud. I think the only flirty way to end it is to just say "okay you're right". And for the receiver of that statement to also just accept that neither of you are going to check so it is fine that neither of you legitimately completely changes their feelings about the subject, especially since the subject is silly to begin with, and just concedes to move on. I guess now that I am thinking about it, what he could have said instead was that he thinks he is right but he can't prove it to you without combing VODs and doesn't want to go through all that, so agree to disagree. That way it doesn't have as much of a bite as the clearly fake "okay you're right". Ultimately I think he could have ended it better and less snarky, but you turned it into an actual argument by not just letting it end and move on. Instead you put your foot down and demanded that he legitimately agree that you are right.

My wife called out a cutter who was “netting family in line” but had like 5 people with him and dude got all mad and started yelling and shit. Just don’t care enough to have to fight someone for 5 mins less of waiting. I think Taylor is just that goofy nerdy girl and I’m all for her acting how she wants, people are gonna judge her regardless. Flowers has the same melody as Bruno’s verse, not chorus, just sped up and the lyrics are “similar” in that it’s a response. I’m team maya, she looks nothing like plaza, Ortega I can see. Qt did look like Margot in that pic she showed but otherwise no way.

Record of the year doesn't have to do with lyrics at all (it can but doesn't have to). A cover can be record of the year, its not a song writing only award. If Maya got the same haircut/colour and similar makeup to Aubrey Plaza in famous roles, she would look very close.
