However, during the recording, QT gets called from a scammer acting as her bank and does what you should never do, clicks the link.

It sucks that your bank calls you similarly to legit check purchases so it makes sense you're less likely to think scam + the wine 😩 In case anyone wants a little social script, if I'm ever suspicious about a call I'll always say "I'm kinda busy right now, can I call you back in 5?" If they get defensive it's 100% a scam but regardless I hang up and immediately call the bank/business myself and say "Hey, I just received a call about [reason], just wondering if that was you or a scam?" I think only once had it been a real call and they weren't mad at me at all for double checking. Oh and if they say "Sure, you can call us back on this number [scam number]" I either just say thanks and don't take it or say "No worries, I've got your number right here."

This was text book bad actor tactics, and their goal is to frustrate and confuse you until you ignore your gut instinct that something is wrong. It sucks and feels awful when you fall for one. You are definitely not stupid, I've seen cybersecurity professionals and CEOs and folks with tons of training fall for scams. So, your in good company at least

No one that works for chase would speak like that. Especially without QT being rude first. Also most banks will be fine with hanging up and having you call the number on the back of the card to verify you’re talking to the real bank.

I am very tech savvy and had guided and dealt with scammers for my grandmother (RIP) multiple times over the last 3 years, but I feel like I would fall for this too.
