The veterans I care for have severe health issues, and I always start out our conversations by asking how their day is going. I have one veteran who tells me, "It's going great - I woke up this morning so it's a good day!" Like you said, the things we take for granted - "just waking up" is one I think about now since I met this veteran. I really enjoyed this song!
