The Common Room Concept Art

So I thought I would show you guys how I do my backgrounds for the comic.

The top image was the first time I drew the common room, I quickly sketched in out in the actual comic page, over the next couple pages I realized my mistake because I could not just use the image over again for the same background since the characters were drawn right into it.

So being short on time (story of my life ;P) I quickly put together a new common room using clip art on the internet and building the room to look like my original drawing. I then blur the background and lower the contrast on the comic pages so it blends in with the characters.

I keep all the furniture on seperate layers so I can move it around for different comic panels facing different directions.

One day I hope to have time to completely draw this room and the others I've made from scratch, but it takes a while.
