As the adopted children of a magic witch type magic person these two get to know people in the magic world. One of those people is Laramie Lanolyn. They probably went to camp as kids. Knowing that Laramie and Cindy are friends now, Dennis fears for the town. He's lucky he's not a girl (at the moment) or else Cindy will get him too. Maybe when I end up pulling the "make everyone a girl fuck dudes lol" switch Cindy can have some fun with Dennis. Who knows.
Ratgirl doesn't really mind though. She probably even likes being fat. Being all soft and cuddly and able to eat all the cheese she wants. Only downside is that summer feels way hotter with all that blubber on her. The arc takes place in summer. It hasn't even been a whole month yet. Cindy works FAST. With magic and science on her side why wouldn't she?
