You know I just love how Hao and Han Bin were destined to meet in a survival show. During the signal test, they chose each other as the visual. It was Hao who made the first move to talk to Han Bin to tell him he chose him as the visual while Han Bin chose Hao. They also only remembered each other's names during the star test. So they already started talking to each other behind the scenes. And yes, Hao did teach Han Bin a Chinese phrase during that one episode. Han Bin has also admitted that he chose Tomboy to be in a group with Hao. I think their relationship is cute. I'm one to not like shipping real people or can see through the fanservice in groups, but theirs looks real to me. They are the biggest HaoBin supporters, so they do like being shipped. The company doesn't like it which is why you will see them less on each other's teams when doing variety content. They also like to reveal tmi information that a couple would say during fanmeetings or lives. I do think they are a couple. Overall, I love seeing all of them together, so I wonder what will happen after the contract. I only found out about BP through Jiwoong since I saw him in that BL drama.

Personally, I'm just so happy I got my two favorites in one group with Jongwoo and Jay in ONE PACT! I really hope you check them out, because they are not only self formed with Jongwoo picking all his members, but they are also self produced with the member Tag writing and producing all their music! They are very involved in their own music and pick their own songs, create their own underlying concepts and even do some of their own choreo work! Jongwoo also directs and edits a self-made music video for one of their b-sides every cb and they really add their personal touch to a lot of what they release.

2024-10-25 14:40:56 +0000 UTCI found out recently that in Chinese gay slang, 0 is bottom and 1 is top. So.... Jiwoong is laughing, because he's gay & obviously knows the slang. You'll notice others laughing in the background as well. It takes Hao, who is both Chinese and gay, awhile to get used to the name!

2024-09-14 20:24:48 +0000 UTCI have no idea why he cannot clap like a human being but I love it. 😁 And I think he has one of the most expressive faces. Watching him for reactions is amazing. But those hugs and those tears in the finale! He's so sweet and loving 💜 So many of them have sides we didn't see in the show that I've enjoyed so much. I love watching Yujin watching Hanbin 😂 Yujin looks up to him so much and you can really see it. And Gunwook is a goofy sweet teddy bear. Ricky is funny! Taerae is sassy and incredibly confident. The show did a pretty good job letting us get to know Hanbin, Hao, Matthew, and Jiwoong, I think. Not that we haven't seen more of them, and been surprised by them, and watched them grow, but I felt like I knew them. But the others, there was more to discover.

Like I didn't dislike him, he just wasn't a top 9 pick for me. But man! I fell in love with him during the finale. The way he was so excited for every member, greeting everyone with the biggest bone crushing hug. And watching him now, I'm so damn glad he's part of the group. He always has the most hilarious reactions, is great on stage, and just gets along well with everyone.

2024-09-04 19:52:51 +0000 UTC- It was so fun rewatching the series with you. I was weeping again during this finale lol - You'll definitely get to know more of the members once they are in ZB1! Like you said they only highlighted one aspect of each member so you really get to know them more once they debut. - Jay and Keita not making it hurt me the most but I've grown to love the final line up I'm so happy we got this OT9. - btw Jay was 10th place??? Also Keita was super high in Global Votes but so low in Korean votes which is why he didn't make it. People we're really hoping to have atleast 4 Global trainees but atleast the 3 that made it ranked really high. - It's amazing how ZB1 grows so close quickly. If you compare Ep 13 to them during their Debut era (which is a few months apart)they have immediately become a family. - it helps that the debut members are already close prior to the finale lol -Ricky, Gyuvin, Hao and Yujin are in one agency (Yueha) -Matthew and Hanbin are bestfriends and ex cube trainees -Jiwoong grew close with MOST of the members especially those from love killa and Say My Name team -Taerae was really the only one who didn't have a big connection with the members but it was easy to assimilate him eventually. You'll see it as you get to know them. It's really fun! - Looking forward to ep 13! It's so fun to see them relaxed and happy and getting to see more of their personalities and bonds! Also CAMP ZB1! <3

The parts they show us are sweet enough and the trust between them is definitely real. No one is that good an actor, there is *so much* footage of the two of them. I will happily join in the ZeroStraightOnes fun though :D the whole darn group seems to have decided to just lean into it and pretty much dare anyone to have a problem. No clue about their private identities, but I sure do enjoy the playful gayness :) I actually really like a lot of the relationships within the group - they're good together. Matthew and Gunwook are adorable lately, and Taerae won my heart *again* when he did his show getting everyone to sing with him. Watching him sing supportively with the less confident singers, I realized that's pretty much how he shows love. I didn't expect to fall for these guys. Ooops.

2024-09-03 15:44:26 +0000 UTCThe final rankings were: 10. Jay, 11. Park Hanbin, 12. Keita, 13. Hui, 14. Kum Junhyeon, 15. Lee Jeonghyeon, 16. Yoo Seungeon, 17. Kamden, 18. Jongwoo. After the show ended, I was very worried about the trainees who didn’t make it, but everything ended up working out for everyone. Jay ranked 10th because he receives a lot of love internationally (he also has some Korean fans, but he was last in Korean votes from what I remember). I’m amazed anyone would even dare to say Jay is ugly, TF! Anyway, after BP, Mnet aired a singing show called "Buildup" with judges like Lee Seok-hoon, Baekho, Seo Eun-kwang, Solar, Wendy, Kim Jae-hwan, and even Seungkwan (from Seventeen). Jay was always first on the show and received compliments from all the judges. He won the show and is currently on tour in South America. I’m so happy Jay is finally meeting all the people who voted for him during Boys Planet. Right after BP, Keita had a collab with PH-1. I was so worried about Keita. He is under Rain Company, and while everyone else was promoting after the show, Rain dissolved Keita's group. He even dared to say that what he spent on the group could have bought him a house—ugh. I’ve followed Keita since YG Treasure Box (he was a YG trainee). I’m so happy Keita was able to join Evnne, even if they are temporary. And yes, he is always so loving! It’s great that you mentioned liking the camera work during the silly "Hot Summer" promo because after the show, Jongwoo formed Onepact and even directed one of their videos. This week, I saw that Bak Doha (the Blue House) is finally acting—Cube is so slow... But at least we now know he is doing something. You can also follow many of them on social media. Mingyu (Red House) signed with Fantagio as an actor (the same company as Astro), and I see he is active on social media. I’ve seen him recently on TikTok.

The rules was different back then, korean votes and international voted weight the same. But, if it was in boys planet categories format, im pretty sure Somi would be in G group, just like Seok Matthew.

2024-09-03 07:18:12 +0000 UTCYou’re so right that we only got to see such a limited perspective of the members, even the ones that got a ton of screen time, it wasn’t until after zb1 debuted that we really got to see how fun, crazy, and talented they all are (like I still can’t believe it took me until the FINALE to learn what Jiwoongs vocals truly sounded like omg). And now Jiwoong is SUCH a goofy dork, Ricky is a drama obsessed cutie patootie who just wants to make his members laugh, etc etc. I remember when the final lineup aired, people were GENUINELY WORRIED about the variety show potential of this group and now I’m just like… lmao. One of the most unfiltered and unhinged groups out there and we love them for it!! Also yeah gyuvins speech had NO right to hit that hard in the feels and gunwook is SO cute and such a good speaker it’s insane. Those were probably my favorite speeches! And hao being the first foreigner to ever place first was a HUGE deal, especially as a Chinese trainee since unfortunately there’s still a lot of prejudice (and if you watch the rest of mnets survival shows…you’ll know💀). So many people were worried about him even making the group because there’s also been precedent for really popular and high ranking trainees in the past not making the final lineup. Plus this show wasn’t very popular at all in china until after news of the finale results caught on, and the odds were already stacked against global trainees because of the live vote counting twice when the entire western hemisphere would usually be sleeping or preparing for school/work, not to mention Korean votes counting 50% and the entire rest of the world being the other 50%. Even hao said that he hadn’t prepared a speech for being a first place candidate despite being top 2 twice before, and the utter relief on haobins faces when the candidates came up and it was them omg, we were all just so shook. Honestly I was already so shook and over the moon when gunwook came in at 5 (I was watching half asleep before that because it was taking so long lmao and then I woke tf up!!) and then RICKY AND MATTHEW TOO it was shock after shock all the way to hao lol. And fun fact for you, haobin are the only top 2 candidates in history to hold hands and go up the stairs together! There were 948473673 fancams of them from that night lol. 360 degree views of the neck kiss, hanbin introducing hao to his parents, the staff frantically waving and trying to get them to LET GO so they could get the individual shots of them going up the stairs (traditionally #2 is supposed to go up first and then #1 gets a dramatic walk up with fancy lights etc) but hao was like NOPE. We made it here together and we’re walking up together!! And tbh I really don’t care what the nature of their relationship is, it’s just so nice to see the care they have for each other. And that applies for the whole group. Honestly there were other trainees I was rooting for over the course of the show but now all of zb1 are so family, so insanely sweet and genuine together and I love them so much I couldn’t imagine them any other way. Cant wait for you to dive into their other content!!

2024-09-03 04:09:40 +0000 UTCall the performances in the finale were lipsynced. i know the rest of the performances were live (with the exception of certain parts of performances in the second round, like for example if you were in a dance and rap group they let you lipsync part of the singing) but they were also obviously cleaned up a bit in post-production to make the episode "better." since the finale aired live, they wouldn't have been able to do that, so that's probably why they just opted for lipsyncing all around.

Off the top of my head, groups who have multiple Boys Planet trainees include: One Pact: Jongwoo, Jay, Seungmin, Yedam, and TAG (he left the show before it aired) EVNNE: Keita, Park Hanbin, Lee Jeonghyeon, Seungeon, Yunseo, Mun Junghyun, Park Jihoo TOZ: Haruto, Anthonny, Yuto, Takuto Ampers&one: Kamden, Brian, Choi Jiho TIOT: Kum Junhyeon, Kim Minseong, Hong Keonhee, Choi Woojin Seowon returned to his group Nine.i along with Jang Jiho and Winnie after they were eliminated. Though Winnie has since left the group due to injury and the rest of the group filed a lawsuit against the company. It was announced that they have supposedly come to an agreement with the company but also recently it was said the group was going on a hiatus so their current status is unknown. Seowon does post dances and stuff on instagram though.

2024-09-03 04:00:47 +0000 UTCI literally took a vacation day just to watch the finale because I knew I wouldn't be able to focus at work when this was all happening and so glad I did because they freakin DRAGGED the final lineup announcement for a long time. So many thoughts and feelings went through my mind throughout the finale: - I was SAD that my #1 pick, Jay, did not make it in. And even more sad to learn that he was actually 10th place, so damn close. - I was SUPRISED that Keita did not make it in because he was one of the ones I thought was a shoe in for the final group and was always in the top 9 until now - I was RELIEVED that Ricky got in because he had been hovering just outside the top 9 throughout most of the show and was worried when it got to like 6th place and he wasn't called yet. - I was SHOCKED, JAWDROPPED, SPEECHLESS when Zhanghao was announced as #1 since Hanbin has consistently held that spot since the begining and has shown no signs of dropping down. I knew it was possible for Zhang Hao to take #1 but didn't think it would actually happen. Definitely the plottwist of the finale. All in all, as sad as I was about Jay not making it in, I wouldn't replace anyone in the group now. They're amazing and I love all of them. Also, the finale was basically a HaoBin wedding, especially from when they were both announced as canidates for #1 to walking up the stairs to their seats. There is behind the scenes fancams of a staff gesturing that they should walk up separately but clearly they didn't want to do that and walked up together. Sidenote, that was Chen Kuanrui sobbing on the floor when Zhang Hao got #1, both of them are close friends. The whole Haobin "Ship" is just precious. I honestly don't care if they're actually a couple, or this is just a bromance, besties, or business partners, I'm just glad they both have someone they can lean on. If they're just playing this up for show and votes, whelp someone get them an oscar because they're still keeping that up now lol. Anyways thank you for watching through Boys Planet and giving me an excuse to watch it again for the 100th time. I think a good follow up Survival show would be "Build Up". It's a vocal based survival show where Jay, Wumuti, and Hwanhee also appear on that as contestants.

I think it's because it's a live broadcast and everything was moving quickly from one segment to the next, that it was easier to play the recorded vocals vs trying to control/mix 18 mic audios.

As hard as it is to watch how sad some of them were to not debut, I think it worked out perfectly for everyone. I couldn't imagine ZB1 any other way, and all the top 18 members fit their new groups so well.

Gyuvin throwing himself out of the seat for pretty much every announcement after his, the staff getting mad at Gyuvin for sitting on the floor instead of his chair, the crowd chanting for Yujin to be 9th (which would have been very awkward if it wasn't him.. very glad it was lol) and the staff begging Haobin and then the whole group like "HEY please stop hugging and walk up separately."

2024-09-03 01:45:04 +0000 UTCI’ve seen this so man times and I still feel so nervous watching it. The way jelly pop was EVERYWHERE after the finale, It’s how I found out about zb1. Seeing Zhang Hao perform it and then finding out he was the winner of the show was the turning point for me lol. Like you said him winning is a big deal for these kinds of shows and the overall K-pop industry as a whole. The k group and g group “rivalry” was always goofy. They tried doing it with the yuehwa team (and look at them in the finale crying their eyes out for each other), they tried doing it with Mathew and Hanbin and also with Haobin the whole time and we all know how that ended up 😭 Mnet tried it.

But also I’m thinking of a specific example from &audition. The boy who finished number 1 was extremely popular the entire show. Now he did have one performance in which he struggled but he is very talented. So I think it’s very likely that under that system Zhang Hao still would’ve been number 1.

The concept of PRODUCE SERIES or GIRLS/BOYS PLANET is to choose your favorite trainee to be the national favorite idol. This means that the winner will be the idol that the whole country likes and votes the most (I mean for PRODUCE SERIES that only Koreans can vote). For GIRLS/BOYS PLANET, the concept is the same as PRODUCE SERIES, but it's not just Korea anymore, but global. they don't want the most talented trainee or the most ready to debut trainee, but they want the trainee that is loved and admired the most by people all over the world. My opinion for this kind of show concept the decision based on 100% viewer votes is the right choice.

2024-09-02 21:40:39 +0000 UTCI’ve watched so many of these shows and the finales are usually like 90 minutes to 2 hours. I’ll admit I think this one was too long. I was bored at points. Also I’ve said it before I don’t think these shows should decide form only fan votes. &audition for instance had the vote count for just 30%. Then the main judges were 40% and the last 30% was the guest judges. Although this system ain’t perfect either but I think it’s the best way to do it.
