Dev Log 0.37c: Sweet Mommie Milkers

The development poll is almost finished and this time Sami has a hearty lead. There were rumors of Jenny BE and she started stealing Lina votes.

I remember way back when, the game had practically no full screen renders. Dark times and all that. Eventually I made the idea that every scene should have at least one on average. So I'd end up making 2-3 a week to punctuate things. As the game progressed and girls got more and more active... Well, sometimes that number goes way up to 10-15 in a week. Fortunately I've gotten a lot better at making them, it's not a problem dev wise. This week though... A whole lot of small scenes and additions... I very nearly didn't have a new render to post! Fortunately Alex decided to let her hair down. Folks seemed to like it so now everyone gets it here. I may have even expanded the scene to add in a little sexyness.

Regardless of all that, this week was Lisa week.

Now, the first thing everyone really needs to know... No logic puzzles this corruption level. I love them, as does a solid 0.1% of my audience, but it is not thematically necessary. In fact, the very first thing I did this week was to go and add the ability to get help with the current crossword style puzzle. I told myself it was fine because there purposefully wasn't anything hidden behind it, it was an optional puzzle, but I forgot to communicate that to people. So instead you got a reasonably hard puzzle with no payoff and it's been annoying people since it was put in. As with many things, it wasn't the content that was wrong, it was the delivery. Plus it can be nice to spend a little more time with Carla.

So... Lisa needed something thematic, a grand puzzle, but not one with riddles and ciphers and logic. A puzzle that is far more of a plot development than an actual playable puzzle where you put an answer in at the end. Now, I've made Lisa out to be a smart cookie, and I can't just half ass that without making her look dumb. You can totally write someone smarter than yourself, the important things are to spend time thinking things through, and not just write them as omniscient.

I did eventually come up with something... well I came up with enough.

Step one... Rewrite how exploring rooms works so you can do it at any stage instead of needing the room to be empty. It was pretty simple, just a toggle on the map. Step two: make two dozen tiny little changes across the game.

This might be one of my largest changelogs again. Given I'm not going to be finishing this mystery until Lisa gets another go around, I made sure to try and not have anything annoying dangling. I feel that leaves it just before things get interesting... but I am actively trying not to blue ball y'all.

But it's not just about the quest, there are some changes to how Lisa is acting as well, and that is the real crux of it all.

Classic two plotlines that come together in the end stuff. Not sure how well I'm communicating one of those... but it'll be fine.
