I don’t have much to say this episode because you already covered most of what I wanted to 🤣 We agreed on a lot of things. I never let any of the villainy they tried to shroud K in cloud any of my judgment of him. Like I said way back when you first started I always took things with a grain of salt bc of contrived narratives and judged what went down on my own. K was wrong in a bunch of regards during show, as were a lot of the other contestants. This wasn’t exactly one of them and the way everything went down was so frustrating. I say not exactly because at a certain point you really do need to stop and listen to what people are trying to say to you and try to read the room even if you feel strongly, which he kind of did with the dance move when he checked and noticed he got it wrong. But a lot of people aren’t going to do that ALL the time if not being told directly because they’re just used to being of a strong mind and not be contested, which is where the miscommunication started to make things worse. I wanted to yell at the boys so many times during to show JUST TALKKKKK but I get why it was hard. Hierarchical cultures really do a number on social interaction and standing up for yourself in ways that we aren’t used to over here, and that was the main issue tbh. The up side is that everyone took their own faults in stride and were able to move on even if it did come a bit later than it really should have. Jake getting that first place position from the producers always warms my heart because he’s always seemed so sweet and hardworking. He really is the pinnacle of growth because as Bang PD said the only thing holding him back wasn’t that he couldn’t do the singing or dancing, he just didn’t know how. By the time they debuted and their first comeback came around you would nottt know that he was trained so shortly because he really came into his own and developed so quickly. Also Jay crushed it with his Dive Into You team regardless of the outcome. His stubborn dedication and heart are a force to be reckoned with and why I love him sm. All in all I think this was a fairly chill episode with some really great growth shown in performance almost all around, so it’s one of my favorites. The birth of Queen Flicker will always be iconic, and I wish Dive Into You was officially recorded for the soundtrack 😫 I can’t wait to watch the next!

2023-02-14 02:36:39 +0000 UTCI also love K regardless of anything that went down. I do think all of them were young and in an intense environment and that cannot have been healthy for them. Whilst I do agree to some extent that they should have spoken up I also know that due to culture hierarchy they could not do so easily which made it more difficult. However they did tell him at times their opinions and K still chose to do things a different way so idk. But on K's end I do feel bad for him because I think he expected them to be straightforward the way he is an did not realise the extent culture and age played a role in why they could not approach him as the oldest. But Flicker was amazing and every member did great. Jay was great as a leader I was so proud. I do love that it's clear how close Jay and Heeseung are. They can jokingly scream and laugh at each other in a friendly rivalry way and neither takes it seriously. Like Heeseung just laughing at Jay's outbursts about betrayal and stealing his bed lol. Also idk if you noticed but Heeseung really do be sharing that rank 1 bed like its for everyone bless him. Sunghoon was sleeping in it when they recieved the presents and other times Heeseung and Jungwon sleep in it together so cute. I think regardless of whatever arguments they have most of the I-Land contestants shared a bond and most are still friends now.
