i had NOOOO idea that Jay knew japanese!! that's super cool, like at this point what can't jay do he's so cool. And I never really considered the age difference between K and niki, tis a good point. I def want to see the original versions of "I NEED U" and "FAKE LOVE". You make a really cool point about the nuances of the performances as someone who has never seen the original and how someone who is an ARMY and knows the performances well. I'm feeling better today thankfully!! (and thank you its from Tillys!)

He had a good point which Mr. Son doubled down on about not trying to go his own way selfishly when it’s something that could’ve been discussed and worked on for the benefit of everyone, because they are still being scored together for group rank regardless of this being the more individual section of the show. The way he went about it was not it at all, though. Especially with how awkward it had to be for the group to hear him going off in Japanese. Side note: Jay understands and speaks Japanese pretty well so I have a feeling he at the very least half way understood what was being said back then, but even if he didn’t the vibe of conversation told it all. I agree with what you said about K probably having high standards and not meaning to be an asshole about what he says (ya know, we hope bc we don’t know for sure), and I also think a large part of it is the significant age gap he has over many of the participants. K was 22, 8 years older than Ni-ki and Ta-ki so there was probably some mental interference there with feeling like older brother/mentor instead of a contestant like everyone else. Just food for thought ofc, things that were on my mind while I watched the show myself. Fake Love team def deserved the win, I think DNA team was great as well and I NEED U was not bad in terms of vocals and choreo. That’s why their scores weren’t all that much different. The same reason why they didn’t win is also why Jungwon deserved that highest ranking from the group. As ARMY and someone who has eaten up thousands of I NEED U performances it was just not performed the way the song needed to be, and that doesn’t mean a carbon copy of BTS. The expression and understanding of the song itself was done the best by Jungwon in all aspects, even if it still wasn’t quite right, his vocals were great and he was the most skilled dancer in the performance. Objectively for someone with no connection to the song, Jake did really well with expressions. But for those that do have that history with it he came off more angry and physically pained than desperate and pleading. They were all kind of giving off different vibes so it wasn’t cohesive. Not gonna deny that the producers do have biases though because that’s abundantly clear regardless of my honest opinion on this 🤣 Ni-ki’s full name is Nishimura Riki, and he and Ta-ki have the same first name! I have no clue what Ta-ki’s family name is though? It’s been kept under wraps. The same with K, I think there was a time when it was “discovered” but it was taken down so I’m not gonna kick that bird’s nest. No clue if the name was truly even real since it wasn’t confirmed. You don’t ever have to apologize for taking time to yourself! Rest up, take care of yourself and hopefully you’ll feel better soon. There’s no rush on these episodes and we’ll be here when you’re ready 💜 (also that jacket is really cute btw)
