There was an interesting point in the process where I had to decide if I want to do a black or a white backdrop. The decision to make it dark opened up the opportunity to let the spiraling thoughts bleed above the panel edges and break with the formatting to underline the distress showcased.
I did consider disregarding the panel flow alltogether as well, but in the end decided against it. I tend to stay more conservative when it comes to my paneling, which in a sense can limit me, but also helps to keep the focus within the panels themselves - and I simply prefer the aesthetic of it.
