Since it is a pretty specific martial arts technique, I spent some time beforehand researching typical movements to find something that's both accurate to the arts and also interesting to show in a drawing.
On a side-note: Whenever I'm getting this close I like to add a bit of depth by blurring the parts out of focus so I can define a foreground, middleground and background without there being many elements present besides the person shown.
It helps draw in the eye and subtly lay out a path for it to move along and keep it engaged.
