Happy New Year!

Hey there everyone,

it's almost crazy to think this year is finally over!

For me personally this year was a year of change: I finished my academics, moved places and started my journey into figuring out how to make a creative freelance life work part-time and full time, including starting this page.

There's still a lot of uncertainties attached to it, not everything being figured out, but despite those little fears and worries, I really feel like it's been the start to something new and exciting I am very much looking forward to exploring further!

I did unfortunately fall ill right before the holidays and am still in the process of recovering, but it is also reminding me of what is important besides all the excitement that comes with change: to take things slow when everything else seems to speed up, to allow rest and to listen. Listen to those close to you, those that are foreign and to your own mind and body.
And it's really this mindset that I want to keep and nourish in this upcoming year. Besides all the exciting things I have planned and all the things that will just come with time and opportunities, at the end of it, I want to be healthy and happy so I can enjoy it myself and with everyone who wants to be part of it.

I'm so thankful for each and everyone of you who's here and who decided to give this a go! maybe you're just checking things out for a little while or you're here to stay and will be able to say you where there from the start of whatever there is to come. Both are equally welcomed and appreciated: No matter if long or short-lived, this already has been a wonderful experience for me and I'm glad I can bring something to the table that brings not only joy to me but also joy to you!

This drawing above is the cover of my finished thesis project, my graphic novel, my baby I hope to get out there next year to be published and printed eventually. It's a story about chance and change, allowing yourself to follow your dreams and accept the help you might need along the way until you can stand and run on your own! I want to bring this spirit with me and certainly want this to be the note to leave this year off with.

To further finish this year with mindful gratitude, I attached personal highlights of this year for you as wallpapers (that have not yet been featured in other wallpaper posts) - even if this year didn't leave as much room as other years for fanart, I still created some of my personal favorite drawings so far!
