What South Park (Almost) Got Right About Mutual Abuse

Comments

Unrelated to this video, but related to the plug for your Nebula series at the end, just watched your Yashahime video and it's great, SO excited for the upcoming Kill la Kill vid you have coming up!

Seamus Yossarian (A Serpent Perplexed)

I deeply appreciated your video discussing the AH/JD case and its public reception, and so I knew coming in to this video that it would also be informed and affirming. Really liked the way you broke down this example in South Park. (Also, KFC does actually have a plant based sandwich, at least in Canada haha)

The media discourse around THAT case was so triggering. Seeing all these gleefully misogynistic people parrot the mutual abuse term and seeing it as some victory made me feel ill.

You had me so scared for a minute that South Park tried to take on Depp and Amber Heard. SO. SCARED.

Maria Metaterran

On the subject of South Park and abuse, whenever I'm dealing with someone who is mean to me and I'm inclined to make excuses for them, I end up playing "I can change, I can change..." from the South Park movie to myself. The abusive dynamic between Satan and Saddam Hussein in the movie is not even remotely subtle, but I find the song really helpful.
