LOVECRAFT COUNTRY DISCUSSION ~spoilers~

Comments

I would love to hear your thoughts on all the Lovecraft Country episodes. There really is alot going on in the series for you to touch on. And I'd rather hear your opinion on it than anyone elses.

I would love to hear your thoughts on Ep 2 and 3 and maybe make a regular posts on weekly-ish basis 📺

They had me at the Baldwin audio clip!!! And it just keeps getting better. Thank you for the background on the creator of Lovecraft + the references made throughout the episode. Can’t wait for the next review. Also, I hope you plan on making a video about Black people (and POC in general) and our conflicting relationships with the Sci-fi genre. It might be long and exigent in terms of production but it would be a worthwhile project.

It was super insightful. I did the same thing the moment the episode ended. It led to some interesting conversations about those towns now in the US, I'm in PR but my partner is from Ohio, and many parts of Ohio are still almost exclusively white. It was a little shocking to know that even Americans in American soil can be treated with so much disrespect and are dehumanized so profoundly. I am myself a descendant of West African slaves in the Caribbean plantations and my partner is descended from white plantation owners in Maryland and it is just so baffling to me how racism is so intrinsic and virulent in the US. That you were chased out of your home and kept out of entire towns is just abominable. I see this and it reminds me of just how much practice white Americans have had in erasing people of color and destroying culture and human life. Not only in the Caribbean and the Pacific, but to it's own people in it's own soil. Just astounding. Truthfully I dont even know what to do with all my indignation and anti-colonial sentiment from here. I just wish for justice for all who are oppressed there and for those of us oppressed here as well.
